PX Flighted

Just looking for some thoughts on the new PX flighted. I'm thinking about throwing them in a set of irons. I like the fact that they are constant weight and flighted.

They are not constant weight. I learned this the hard way. TT really needs to update the PX web page to let people know they are descending weight.

That doesn't make any sense then, because then it would be the same shaft as the TRF. I just saw the catalog today from True Temper and it says that they are a constant weight golf shaft. PX which is constant weight, flighted = PX Flighted.

They are not constant weight here are a couple of PMs I exchanged with True Temper:

I recently purchased a set of PX, Flighted, 6.0, .355 shafts from Leader

Board Golf. I was under the impression that these shafts are constant weight. The set I purchased is not, the shafts have these weights:

Also, I have certified, calibrated scales at my work and the measurements

that I made are correct.

 

Can you please tell me if this is correct for these shafts. Are these

shafts supposed to be constant weight or descending?

That was my mistake. When I posted that I was uner the impression the Flighted shafts were also constant weight like the original PX shafts are, but obviously they are not. I apologize if you made this purchase based on my statement. The TCI shaft is the only constant weight, flighted shaft I am aware of.

i'm thinking of shafting up my mp60's with px flighted's as well. so you're saying that precut these shafts are descending weight? in terms of playing or feel characteristics, what does this mean vs. a constant weight shaft set? i'm currently playing TT x100's.

PX Flighted is a descending weight shaft. The main differences between it and TFR is PX Flighted has a much more stable tip section and each shaft is individually manufactured. TFR is acheived by exaggerated trimming of a Rifle blank. PX Flighted has a gradual change in tip stiffness from each shaft while with TFR, all the long irons have the same tip stiffness, the middle irons are the same, and the short irons are the same.

This may come off as somewhat out of line but I thought something needed to be clarified a little better in this conversation. The PX flighted shaft descend in weight because they are shorter(3-pw) which I am sure you both knew. They are like this because the headweight from 3 to pw ascend in weight witht he pw being the heaviset head.Okay, that's my two cents.

Thank you for this information - I have tried to get this answer for some time now and I'm glad you could clarify. Just one more reason that I love GolfWRX!

 

I really want to try the PXF shafts in some irons and now I know what to expect.

My clubmaker weighed all the shafts and the difference is weight was 5 Grams from the three iron too the PW. He said that it's really hard to make constant weight flighted shafts because the shafts are a different weight being that they are different freq. just trimmed differenlty. Shorter irons= lower Freq hard stepped, and Longer irons= higher Freq soft stepped. From top to bottom these are the most consistent set of irons i've ever had. PXF is a great golf shaft, better than PX imo.
