So because of a college hoops game the Pebble coverage cant come on the air until they are on 9 - skipping the best part of the course on a Sunday. Alright.

Never realized until I saw it today how much Tex's needle would move for the top shelf in my humidor...

That's right DC, I enjoy you thinking about my needle... maybe get a green sharpie to fix the color?

Anyone ever play or visit Rolling Road?

Played Rolling Road many times. It is on 90 acres. You can seriously get hit as you cross over fairways to get to the next tee box. The fairways are parallel with a number of blind shot from the tee or fairway to the greens. Smallest 18 hole course in the country. Not a long course but the greens are very tricky and tough to read. You need to play it a number of times to play it well.

I won't be playing it but working. I have never heard of it until the other day. Memberships seem very reasonable.

You too good for 6000 courses City?

Does it make you feel like a MAN to play 6700-7000?

I also get the feeling it's a little fancy. Kent might know better.

Also,I didn't think it was reasonable. Isn't it like 6gs a year?

That's like 1 dollar for every yard.

Was thinking the same thing Tex, except City won't be breaking 80 there to often. It may be short but it is difficult

Kent, I would roll that course over and slide it in.

Birdies like hos hand out condoms (all the time).

Every day at Rolling Road would be like it's 69 in Richmond at 6pm the night before. And I'm pouring concrete.

I think it's a good bit more than turf and there is a definite country club feel.

Not that hard. I shot 75. I played well but if you can make a score if you can putt the greens

Had a little Chipping contest with Typhoon today at Norbeck after slamming some breakfast. Good game of Horse and Pig, and I played 4 holes in between. Course was actually not too wet and greens were nice. So much different than earlier in the week. Domes' short game is getting better. No doubt about that. Love their short game area.

Still fighting off this cold/flu or whatever it is. Just unreal how persistent it's been. Might even get some abx soon.

Sounds like City's UMD round might have been E with better wedge play from 100. Karma, b****.

I have seriously been looking for a house in MB for the last year. We have found one on the World Tour Golf Course. Making an offer today. We have looked at a number of houses but have not found what we think suits our needs. Maybe this is the right one.

We've been looking, too. Found a nice house recently but feel like it's a little overpriced.

Walked 18 today at Herndon Centennial. Didn't drive the ball well but the course is short so it never was an issue (tips out at 6200). Fewer FIRs but nearly 50% GIRs, so something positive from the round. Don't know that I hit anything spectacular but didn't hit anything too terrible either. Got pushed a little on the back nine by a threesome who came out of nowhere. I was walking at a pretty decent clip but I'm heading up 12 and they come roaring up the 11th fairway. They were right on my tail for two holes and then they just dropped back and I never saw them again. Finished just as the rain was starting, so I had that going for me.

Best stat: I've lost only one ball in the last four rounds I've played. Still not sure what happened to it.

Just booked a house in MB for a week in August. Will be a little toasty but it's the only time the whole fam was available. The hard part will be picking some courses to play.

Herndon cent is a course I haven't heard from in a long long while.

Always loved holes 8 and 11. 8 requires a nice fade around the tree at the bend and then 11 requires a nice draw around that bend.

Always thought was crazy how they fit 18 holes into that land.

Nyquild myself to sleep last night and evidently slept through some pretty good winds. Saw a couple of small trees down on the road this morning, nothing blocking traffic but if they were on smaller streets could easily see taking out power lines too. Think I heard that Fairfax County schools are on a delay because of all the trees/power outages.

Really only starting to feel remotely back to normal this morning after @ a full 72 hours knocked on my a**.

10 day forecast shows mid-high 60s for Sat/Sun/Mon of a long weekend. Sweetness.

I looked back at rolling road this morning because those numbers didn't sound right; I'd looked once before.

For an ADULT (over 40), it's $507 per month, plus minimums, plus locker room fee, plus $2000 initiation. So, that's over $6000 per year (and $8000 my first year). It includes pool and clubhouse. It's cheaper based on age, but if you're 35-40, it's still $5028 a year with $60 mins and $1000 initiation.

The course (according to Grint) is 6134 from the tips. Par 70. With a Rating of 70 and slope of 121. So, shooting 80 there (which Kent thinks I'd do) would put that in the running for about one of my top 5 worst rounds of all of last year.

They advertise 3.5 hour rounds and NO TEE TIMES. They write, "who has time to plan around a tee time?" I'd ask them, "who has time to show up at the course and have to wait an unspecified time?"

If I had to GUESS what you're paying for here. . .pretty landscaping and exclusivity and convenience.

Because that is convenient. That's right between work and home for me and if I could show up there at 4:00 PM or 6:00 AM and race around (and not deal with some of the stuff I dealt with this year), that would be sweet.

More than anything, this just seems horrible to me. . .

OB on a road on about 6 of the holes. Cars driving by. Dreadful.

Still, it's a golf course. Better than a sharp stick in the eye.

City..

Sorry I didn't look up old &$$es price...my B.

No tee times sounds disastrous.

Importance of a club for me:

1. Cost

2.Conditions

2. Pace of play

I dont understand the appeal of the "no tee times" bit. If its an ultra exclusive club with very few members, thats one thing. But with hundreds of members to deal with, what do you do if you want to play on a weekend, show up 3 hours early? Show up and hope there isnt a group of 20 in front of you? Screw that. It really seems like a very bad idea.

MV has an online tee sheet where you can see/signup for tee times and see how busy or not the course is going to be. IMO its a pretty good system. You can still show up without a tee time if you know the course is empty but you're not rolling the dice during busy times.

My only Adele question is that album was released at the end of 2015 - how is it winning Grammys this time around?

In honor of City's post- what is the most crammed in course you've played?

Could be from natural land geography or could because of development around it

My vote is Westwood country club in vienna

That's what I was wondering. I knew that album came out in an October/November time frame.

I said to wife, "was 'Hello' and all that 3 months ago or 15 months ago?"
