Need a new 3 wood shaft

Hey everyone.

 

I am looking for a new 3 wood shaft. My current setup is a Nike 15* T60 with a Aldila NVS. The only problem with this setup is that whenever I go after one, it tends to go high left. I feel this is because the higher torque that tends to hit the ball left. I like the launch of this shaft, just not the torque. I have a 105MPH SS with a driver, and I have a average tempo. I was thinking a Diamana Red, any thoughts at this?

Can't comment on the Diamana, but one I can recommend with absolute confidence would be the Speeder 757 (legendary shaft and great in either driver or fairway). Much lower torque then the NVS (which I dislike) and a far more stable and consistent shaft all round.

Purple Ices are on close out on the bay for $20 or so. That is a great deal.

The diamana blue 83 is the best FW shaft I've ever played. I got a tp version for my v-steel for abou $65 off of another forum. The speeder is right up there.

 

On a budget, the V2 and Purple Ice's are both very good.

 

I don't think torqe is the problem, though. At your swing speed, the torque difference will factor in maybe a yard or two, at most.

The purple ice is probably the best value you can get right now. It plays on the stiffer side of the flex and the trajectory is great for getting it up with the fairway woods.

i recently put a purple ice 95 in both a t-60 19* and t-40 tour 19* and really like. the feel smooth, and have a real nice kick to them. that get the ball up well, but do not balloon. i don't think they are far behind my blueboard 103 in my t-60 15*.

I don't know what weight range shaft you're looking for but if you want something in the 70/80/90 range check out the fujikura vista pro line. Great launch for fairway woods, very stable tip, great value.

Don't forget about Epic. The Nanofuse technology screams fwy woods and hybrids. 85g, 2.5 torque, mid kick point. Dispersion on Epic has been proven to be better than graphite and that's what is more important with a fwy wood.

 

If cost is an issue look at the Comp NT 85.
