I had a few Bullseye putters. If I remember right,..................the B35 stamp means Standard Bullseye, standard weight, and 35" long. May or may not have a sight line on top. I might be wrong, it's been 25 years or so.

Here is a listing of the original designs.
Original: Medium weight, rounded toe, flat top. For right or left handers.
Old Standard: Medium weight with square toe and top blade. Sight line
Standard: Medium weight with rounded toe and top.
Light Blade: Like Old Standard but lighter, narrower.
Heavy Blade: Like Old Standard but with heavier, wider blade.
Bulls Eye Junior: Standard blade. 30" shaft. Scaled-down grip dimensions.
Heel Shafted Flange: Medium-heavy weight. Offset hosel. Sweet spot slot for improved feel and alignment.
Heel Shaft Flange II: Like the Heel Shafted Flange but without the Offset.
Wide Flange: Heavy, wide flange for low concentration of weight. Sweet spot slot. Idea. for large or slower greens.
Wide Flange Offset: Same as Wide Flange but offset.
Flange: Medium weight, slightly offset. Single sweet spot sight line.
LaFemme: Light weight for the woman golfer. Rounded toe, top and flange.
Left Handed Flange: Like the Flange but for the one out of every dozen golfers who plays left-handed.

Never knew there were that many different types.....think mine is just standard but I'll have a look. I usually swap to my bullseye when the greens get faster in the summer months......but it's been crap weather thus far so it's not in the bag yet

LOL......I have a buddy with a wife like that. She has us spy on him and report in. We gladly do it if he doesn't pay up for beers when we see a new club. What are friends for?

Can you post pix of your new wand? The stamping has me intrigued and I am wondering something. Titleist made a set dubbed "B-33"s that came with woods, irons and a putter. It looked like a Bullseye, but was actually two pieces, IIRC and pinned together. It may be just my brain fogging about the B35.......it has been known to happen. Now, I have the urge to find my box of Bullseye heads and see if I have any stamped with the "B" designation. Great, just great, LOL.

Everyone-

THE article for the Bullseye and PING putters was written and published over 35 years ago in Golf Digest- "Putter Kings"

It has photos of John Reuter Jr. (pronounced ROO- ter) and Karsten Solheim, each holding some of their various putter models they created.

It remains one of the most definitive articles one could ever find on both men.

Reuter was 86 at the time.

The Bullseye putter was born in Sault Ste. Marie, MI... by a guy who at the age of 12, just happened to caddie for Harry Vardon.

Supposedly, Scotty Cameron at one time had "over 500 Bullseyes in his hoard".

I put a super stroke on an old bullseye I picked up for $10 recently and had some good rounds with it in the bag. Not having the alignment seems to free up my stroke and loving it so far. I am a mallet guy and intrigued by how well I am putting with the bullseye.. it has a satin flared tip shaft as well which I think is cool..

Here it is. Took a "magic eraser" and a well worn green scotch brite pad to the original grip. I know what you mean. A lot of today's mallets are way too big and busy. It can be very distracting, visually. If I use a mallet it has to be simple. The blade is always good to get me back on track.

And if you play persimmon, you're my friend

It's the current gamer in my bag - flange is on standby in the trunk if needed.

They really put the art back into putting. Unlike a high MOI putter that needs a mechanical stroke, these make you use feel.

Couldn't agree more Scooter. It really is more feel with the old putter. My distance control has been much better. And the feedback in the hands is great. What I'm finding now is that I'm reading too much break on the greens I play regularly.

Would love to find that mallet at the flea market.

One more question. Are the flutes on the shaft originally black or is that something someone did after
If my memory serves me correctly back that far they were black when they were new

Distance control is the biggest benefit I've found from the Bullseye family.

Typical greens where I golf (Manitoba) tend to be heavier on public courses, probably from deliberately letting them get heavy for durability and winter survival reasons. Therefore, one needs to really whack a long lag putt to get it close.

This is where I find the mallet shines - with that additional mass behind the ball, one doesn't need to swing as hard, giving them a better opportunity not to knock the putt way offline. However, the flange is at the ready when needed if I play a course with speedy greens.

John L-

+1 for your list.

Remember at 12, John Reuter Jr caddied for Harry Vardon...

And the flutes on the John Reuter Jr Pat Pending Bullseyes are longer.

.. if you're really lucky....you might find a Pat Pending John Reuter Bullseye with a shaft WITHOUT flutes, and a more square toe.

(Someone might have based one of his SC Bullseyes on this head design...)
