Switching from C-taper to modus 3. What flex???

Hey guys, currently playing ctaper 130x in my CMBS for the last 3 years, 10 years of X-100s before that. Im gonna order a set of Srixon z745/945 combos with the Modus 120X shafts and was wondering how the flexes compare. They unfortunately cant get the 120tx only the X.

Should i hardstep them to keep the same feel im used to? Will the 120x straight in feel too loose or does it hold up well? Thanks in advance for any help

I think the Nippons are going to feel like noodles compared to your C-Tapers. You will have to hard step them about 6 times to get them in the same ballpark.

They will probably feel a lot more flexible, the 120s have a very soft butt, it's a very unique feel. That doesn't by any means mean they will be too flexible for you though. Hardstepping won't change the feel, and neither would a TX, even if you could get it. Unfortunately if you can't try them, it's going to be a leap of faith. Feel is by far the most important factor in whether a shaft 'works' for someone (an order of magnitude more important than things like launch, spin, etc). Most people I've seen try 120s really like them, but some really hate them...

I am not sure there is an apples to apples in the Modus3 line.

I felt like the 130x was a little more demanding than CT X, but softstepped once it felt a little softer than the CT S+.

The 125x System3 was about on par with the CT S+, but I did not like how it felt overall and moved back to CT S+.

A guy I golf with regularly was a long time CT X user, and he likes the 125x System3 right now. He played the 130x for a bit and also found it pretty demanding round over round.

I think the 120x is going to be more like the X100, but softer in the tip and in the hands.
