Mg tour ball is the best all around ball I've played and am sooooooooooo happy I found that lost one on the 8th hole at my course! Ball looks cheap and like a crap ball but Omg it flat out performs, beat out my pro V's and my Cally hex black I've stocked up on.
Truly great ball for any price and a steal you won't believe for current price. Fix ur dam crappy looking logo! (But keep ball quality and price )

I totally agree with you Golfer from MO on all accounts! I've tried a multitude of urethane balls this year included the Callaway Chrome Speed, this ball just flat out performs! It's long, low driver spin, plenty of green side spin and approach spin! It's cheap and MG GOLF ships very quickly! It's not a big name/major brand and that's the only thing about it. This ball flat out performs and you owe it to yourself and wallet to give it a try!

well, this one and the other thread and the glove thread got me curious

I ordered some gloves and I'm hooked on that.

Now I have 3 dozen MG balls on the way, and I have the chemists at RIT dye looking to make sure their Neon Yellow Pro line powder will dye a urethane ball...

If not, they are going to get me a formula for NEON yellow with a hint of green.....

I normally play a yellow srixon, but I can get used to playing white again if I have too

Let me know how that dye works out Pinggator! I prefer a white ball, but do like the yellow Titleist NXTs. They are bright yellow and have a slight sparkly sheen! This would be cool if you can dye golf balls like that!

On another note, I have just tried the Tour C4 balls from MG and they are a great ball for the price. I have been sampling direct to consumer performance balls all summer (Vice, Snell, and now MG) and these are a great ball at a price that is at least $10-12 cheaper than the other options. My preference is still the Snell MTB (just a little softer feel for me) but the C4 is fantastic.

It contacted me today and gave me the formula for their neon yellow in the proline fabric dye

let me know how it goes as I've tried dying several different manufacturer's ball including the c4 and they've all turned out blue rather than yellow or green. I've tried rit and the other brand to no avail. blue balls suck every way imaginable.

I just checked my cabinet and i've tried the yellow and lime green rit luquid dye, yellow and green jacquard poly dye and the tulip green dye. IIRC, I don't think I saw the rit proline dye at the joanns fabric I visited so I just grabbed what was listed from the previous sentence. Or, maybe I'm just not skilled enough to dye these darn golf balls correctly lol. I know through some old threads that others have done it successfully.

Rit contacted me this morning and they are going to work with me to see what their pro line dye will do...
They are sending me enough to work with to give them some feedback in Neon yellow. Their Chemist was not sure about the proline stuff, only the synthetic, which would have to be mixed to get the neon.. I am going to see what I can do with the samples they send me and let them know the results...

I apologize for keeping the threadjacking going, but I've tried the Rit "Dye More" synthetic dye on urethane balls (ProV1, FG Tour), and while it works better than the standard Rit dye, the color still wasn't what I considered to be acceptable. Used the Daffodil Yellow dye only, didn't mix it, so I'd be curious to see if combining other colors results in a brighter neon shade.

I pulled the trigger on the chrome soft today. Figured I would give those a shot first because of the limited quantity available, but I was wondering about the C4. The stock for that is down to 919 and was wondering whats going on with that? I guess I dont really know how much they keep on hand, but seemed kinda low.

I have been playing Bridgestone B330 RX and am curious to find out if the C4 is as good or better than Bridgestone.

I played the B330-RX for a while, and I could not stop it on ANY green... I moved to the Srixon as it had a little better stopping power.

I played the C4 today for the first "full round" and I have to say it feels great. Better than the B330 did (in my opinion MUCH BETTER), and as much as i hate to admit it, yes, better than my beloved Zstar. I don't think it spins as much as the Zstar. But it stopped on full shots very well. I don't spin the ball a ton, so I have trouble stopping most chips/pitches. The C4 exacerbated this. But it was really not that big of a deal.
The ball held up well throughout the round, I hit a couple of trees and i had only a minor mark in the cover. I played it for 9 more wholes until I put it in the water on number 10 (which I shouldn't have been in the water, but I pulled my 5 wood off the tee).

All in all, I'm sold. Hopefully I can get the Neon Yellow dye from Rit to hold and make it a workable yellow..

They are supposed to be sending me a sample of the neon yellow. They emailed last week and asked for my mailing info. So shouldn't be long. I'm going to test it on a couple that I have already put into play. See how that turns out

With the flash it shows up better... its not that yellow, but it is yellow.

 

I think if I could do a little more concentrated solution, i think it would be better...

YOU MUST USE BOILING WATER... I tried it with hot water, and it didn't work... I used water that was at the boiling point and it "took"

They asked me to do the testing for them as they didn't know if it would work. They told me that if I was willing to test it for them and give them the results they would send me a sample pack.

I am going to buy a tub of the Neon Yellow and a Tub of Neon Green and see what trouble I can get into..

I also am stoked to see they have a synthetic dye in orange.. as I have a white mock turtleneck that i bought specifically to dye a beautiful shade of Gator orange...

Sweet! Looks good pinggator! Now I can go back to buying and playing the c4 with a more favorable color for my eyes. Gotta find a source for the rit pro line dye now. Will you be ordering the dye from their website or another source like amazon, ebay, etc?
