Callaway X Series N415 Irons

I know this probably won't get much response here but has anyone tried the Callaway X Series N415 irons? I really like that they come with uniflex shafts which seem to fit me well. They look like X Hot irons without the bore-thru hosel. Just curious if anyone here has tried them out.

I know this might get me kicked off the board, but I didn't even know these existed.

Nah that won't get you kicked off the board. Now me posting this question might. It's not your standard iron set that most on GolfWRX would go for. Just a plain jane off the rack kind of iron.

One thing to keep in mind on this set, callaway doesn't recommend bending the lie on these- hosel will show stress cracks

Not only the Irons but the Drivers,Hybrids,Woods also fell through the cracks if you didn't see them at SA,PGA SS this year......I first saw them at PGASuperstore and thought wow I've never seen or heard about these before.......Prices are Pretty Cheap too.

When were these released they look a lot like the X Hot Series

They are a made for Dicks, GG, PGA SS type of set, Uniflex, altered heads from say Xhot line. They are a nice, inexpensive alternative for the avg height, avg speed guys that don't need to be fit, lie adjusted, or custom shaft needs. Fills a void. Have sold quite a few of them.

Average height...check. Average speed...check. I may have to pick up a set of these just to try out. The price is right on them now. Thanks for the info on them.

I tried asking several Callaway folks about them and they either ignored me or tried to push me to the more expensive XR irons (oh you don't want those. What you need are the XR irons!).

I was told by a salesman at a local store, that the shafts on these are not very good!
[/quote]

I was told by someone from Callaway that these werenot the clubs for me. That I need the new XR irons...at nearly 3X the price.

I'm sure that if you have a fast swing or a slow swing, then these shaft would not be very good...for you. But there are plenty of average golfers like myself that the uniflex shafts would work just fine. It all depends on who you are.

The XSeries clubs are identical to the XHot's. I was looking for the XHots and could not find them anywhere. I bought the XHot's for my son last summer and was hitting both in the yard (I have a 220 yard hole cut all for myself). Anyway, the XHot 7 iron was going mainly 155yds for me and my TM R5XL 7 iron was going 140. Consistent 15 yard difference. Golfed 36 holes Monday with the XHot's and was hitting a 4 iron again. Was hitting it 200 yards. Found that the XHot's and XSeries lofts are deflated (4i 20dg, 5i 23dg, 6i 26dg, 7i 30dg, 8i 34.5dg, 9i 39dg, PW 44dg, AW 49dg, SW 54dg). Basically 1 - 2 degree's below standard. I am a 4.3 handicap in my Golf Tour, but 49 years old, so it felt good to hit the 7iron 155yds again. I use stiff shaft's but the Uniflex shaft works fine. No fading or hooking unless I play that shot. Very solid and forgiving head. I just went onto PGA Superstore and got a set of XSeries for myself for $299.99 (yes, they are $100 off right now on-line). I did just go to Dicks Sporting Goods today and hit the Callaway XL Irons. OMG, tremendous. Awesome feel and 7 iron was consistent 160 - 165. But I am to cheap to pay $799.99 for the XL's right now. Hope that helps.

My brother bought a set of the N415's. They're a spectacular club for the price. I agree - I'm certain they are just rebranded X-hot's for a few big box retailers.

I also just saw a N416 version at Golfsmith, etc. for great prices. They look just a little different. I'm wondering if they are rebranded Callaway XR's?

Link if anyone cares.

The 415 and 416's are nice, inexpensive cast clubs. The XR series has Face Cup technology that increases ball speed, especially for average to low speed swings. As stated, the 415 and 416's are nice clubs, especially if you can not afford more expensive clubs, and if standard length standard lie clubs works for you.

I currently play this set. Driver, woods, hybrids, irons and the x wedges. All very solid clubs. Irons arent the most forgiving ive played but defintely worth the price. Driver is fantastic and the woods and hybrids are bombers for me. I went back to a regular shaft this year in my woods and hybrids and can honestly say it was worth it. If youre a person looking for a brand new full set for $1000 or so i say go for the 415s. You wont be disappointed.
