Has anyone ever hit the Hammer?

I'm not thinking of buying one, just curious as to whether anyone has tried it.

i hit one once. some guy saw me crushing my laucher 330 about 3 years ago and wanted me to see if the hammer was longer. man that thing must be like a f5 swing weight and the shaft is a noodle but all in all i hit about the same distance with a lower flight when i didnt bottom out behind the ball cuz its so heavy

I even gave my friend one of my backup drivers so he'd agree to throw that thing away.

 

I believe the face was like 6* closed or something like that....

A friend bought a used one for like $20 as a joke. We all hit it at the range one day. It is ugly as sin, but isn't bad short. The shaft is like a 3.2 or something, and it hooks the ever living crap out of the ball. You get 5 more yards if you yell "POW!!!" when you hit it....true story, ask the leprechaun, he was fetching the balls for us....

I have hit one, and let me tell you it is another infomercial piece of crap. First of all the head is the wierdest thing to look at with with the crown sloping downwards towards the back of the head, it's crazy looking. And all the stuff about it being 25 yards longer than the r7 or whatever the stat was, that is total balongne, I was outdriving the Hammer with my Comp by atleast 15-20 yards. The face feels super dead, and you don't really know where it's going, it's kind of like Daly's putter, sometimes it jumps left, sometimes it jumps right for no reason.

 

Remember in the infomercial they said that they would give you $100,000 if you could out-drive the Hammer with your own driver? I wonder how that works.....

no it was they'd give you that money if you could out drive jack hamm and he'd spot u 100 yards. oh yeah i forgot to add it looks like a crab mallet with 45" graphite shaft

Pretty sure the deal was if you could outdrive "The Hammer" guy with your driver...............not the club. You better muscle up for that one, the guy can flat drive a ball............even with the P.O.S. he's endorsing.

If someone else yells POW! in your backswing you get an extra 30 mph of clubhead speed. We saw it happen in person.

Yes we did, but that was not with the Hammer

 

I actually have hit the Hammer. It actually did not hit the ball that bad, but it has to be the ugliest thing I have ever seen. If you had that and a set if original Cleveland VAS irons and some F2 wedges, you would have the ultimate bag.

Were the VAS irons the ones that had a hosel that appeared to offset the shaft by like 1"? They had a little purple medallion in the cavity, didn't they?

 

I didn't think they were too bad looking. Couldn't hit them worth crap though, that ridiculous hosel :cheesy:

the vas actually felt very very soild and was surpingly very playable
