i would press back on that but i can understand why someone would think that. There is a ton of luck but the key is to avoid the trap players and find the value players. There is a skill set to it but just like poker there is going to be luck involved. Sometimes your flush loses to runner runner full house which was accounted for in the opponents range, but the odds are not likely in most situations.

 

Despite my most recent close calls, i have run well above expectations when it comes to betting on golf. A ton of luck, some skill and lack of fear when it comes to risk are a big part of that. With that being said, I am going with Sung Kang again this week and i have a few notables that i may live bet based on their first 9 holes.

 

For now:

 

Kang $181 @ 55-1 to win

Kang $100 @ 5-1 to be top 10

Kang $50 @ 10-1 to be top 5

I think everyone will be on lee so that it might be wise to use a little game theory and fade him, same goes with the "big names". Such a weak field they are overpriced.

I hate that DK has salaries relative to field strength as opposed to past results.

I looked into it apparently Nevada is ok with dk but they need to purchase a "gambling" license. Dk doesn't want the the word gambling associated with them so there is the problem, I guess I'll just drive to California to do lineups while keeping my Indiana mailing address.

In regards to open a lot of it is dependent on weather, you saw what happen in Scottish

Had Woodland, finau, Casey, and matsuyama start out on fire and then the dynamic duo of Rose and Mickelson double kicked me square in the balls

i took Jason Day for $120 when he was at 80-1 just after the eagle. Once the bet cleared it dropped to 25-1 so i think i got a good price. My betting was very minimal this week since i have significant action in our club tourney this week.

 

Day is a long shot, but at least he has the ability to go low and if his health holds up he could be in the hunt. The model i follow had him at 5% to win which meant if he got above 20-1 it was a positive EV bet. When it hit 80 while he was gaining momentum with a birdie and an eagle... i had to take it.

 

i also have $40 on Kang at 250-1 but that was only because of the GG fanboi part of my brain said to do it. I waste more than that when i take Mrs Gamble Gamble to a nice Brazilian Steakhouse and she doesnt eat anything but chicken and salad.

Add Jordan Spieth $400 at 14-1 at the Dell Technologies... I even took a few weeks off prior to the playoffs.

 

I was hesitant to post this bet before the tourney ended. I felt like I was jinxing myself by posting since I had many close calls prior. It looks like my break after a streak of close calls finally led to a win.

 

I'm not sure who I like this week. I expect to live bet once I see how people take off...
