Golf Trip in May - Spain or Portugal?

We normally stay in England but considering spreading our wings a bit this year - so trying to decide on either Spain or Portugal for a 3/4 day break?

There's some great deals on flights and AI accommodation but would welcome any thoughts on the golf?

Where should we be looking at to get best value - as we don't fancy paying €100+ a round?

Any advice much appreciated...

Speaking from experience of 5 or 6 golf holidays during these months I really can't see that you could find anywhere better than the Algarve.

We've always stayed in and around Vilamoura, it's 25 mins from Faro airport and transfers cost about £15 return in a private shuttle.

Our friends at Golf Breaks are doing 3 nights B&B and 3 rounds at the Tivoli Victoria for £289. That just can't be beat with a big stick to my mind. It's a belter of a 5* hotel, you're playing a European Tour course (Portugal Masters Oct 16) and there is a practice facility at the end of the pool with limitless pyramids of balls. That way your golf and accommodation is all taken care of. We're going out a the end of March and Ryanair flights were £67 return.

To top is all off the whole thing is complimented by Super Bock beer and some of the best fish and steak restaurants in the Med at the Vilamoura Marina. All of the Oceanico courses are pretty good but there is also San Lorenzo and Quinta Do Lago N&S in close proximity.

Look at some of the Vlogs from Mark Crossfield. They play in Spain/Portugal a few times a year and the courses seem amazing. not sure about price or anything like that, but could give you some ideas
