a cheaper launch monitors useless? eg SC200... ES14?

Id really like my own launch monitor... obivously the big brands are big bucks and out of my league.

But are these cheaper ones worth the few hundred bucks?

Or are flightscope, GC2 and of course trackman the only ones worth using?

The cheaper ones may not be as accurate but they are consistently inaccurate. Meaning: the numbers you get might not be spot on but they will be consistent. So I guess it all depends what you're trying to get out of it.

To answer your question, I would say it's worth it for what I would use them for.

I wouldn't spend money on something that gave inaccurate information.

What's the intent? For what a lot of people want to see(spin rates, launch angles, smash factors), yes, you have to go to the bigger units to get that info. The lower end models will give you things like swing speed or ball speed, but much of the other information is nothing more than a guess.

You have some units that are working to bring down the price points and fill the gap with a bit more info(SkyTrak as an example), but they are still relatively new, and have some complications with setup/software.

Don't bother man. Just save the cash for a Flightscope Xi+ .Those are $5k and you get all the same information that you would get from a Trackman(I think)

You have to step up to the Tour or the Elite for all the data. Plane numbers and some other club data is not displayed on those units.
