Playing in my first tourney this weekend I'm really excited but just trying to manage my expectations I've played competitive golf for my high school but that was about 5 years ago and I know the courses really well just wandering if anybody had some tips and pointers

Don't try to not be nervous. Try to get to a place where you're looking forward to feeling nervous. You don't go bungee jumping to try to overcome the adrenaline rush, you go to FEEL the rush. Same with tournament golf.

Just have fun, because tournament golf will tell you how good you really are......Trust me, I've played in hundreds.

Remember to always have fun and let go of expectations. Playing to the fat part of the greens will result in more birdie opportunities and pars on the scorecard. Stay in the moment and don't get ahead of yourself, nor look back, the most important shot in golf is your current one. Always keep it fun. Good luck out there when the tournament starts.

Update I played terrible but I finished 2nd in my flight and won a closest to the pin contest one of the holes I'm supposed to play in a match play tournament soon if everything goes to plan. Just wanted to say thanks for the advice and kind words.
