Help me with a quick fix on my Bushnell Rangefinder

So my rangefinder will only work when i press and hold in on the battery cover of the unit. Does anyone know a quick fix to solve this? I tried duct taping the battery cover on as tight as I could, but that still doesn't work. I'm tired of having to press in on the cover each time I want a yardage. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

The contact is obviously bad. You could try and stretch the spring on the cover or pry up the tabs a little. You might have to take it apart to see if there is a loose connection (which I had) or rust inhibiting the contact. The bad part of that is that the only way to get them apart is to pull off the wrap around covering on many of the models. My V3 was like that and I had to replace the cover and I used an adhesive to reattach it. I was in a pinch and used Shoe-Goo of all things. Worked and still holding together although I have since moved on to the Tour X. This isn't for the faint of heart and helps if you have a continuity tester.
