Anyone hear the excuse yet? I'm guessing it's the fabled wrists. If the HSBC offers her a sponsor's invite after this, it's just going to make a mockery of the LPGA tour.

I haven't seen any interviews yet. But I agree, no more sponsor exemptions please. Its time for her to start qualifying for these tournaments.

But on a much better note, did anyone notice that Julieta Granada has moved into tie for the lead at 4 under par. She was one tough competitor at the ADT last year -- maybe she's planning on validating that win. She'd also provide the South American double.

Yeah thats great. :) Morgan Pressel :russian_roulette: is also playing very solid right now. -2 only a couple back. Its great to see some young guns playing well out there.

I can't decide which final pairing that I'd like to see more: Angela and Morgan... Angela if she won would eclipse Morgan's youngest to win a major.. or Julieta and Morgan... I've read that they're good friends and with one win each under the belt, it'd be fun to see which one could pull it out.

Also Lorena, Christie and Brittany Linicicome are pulling back into the picture, they may be top 10 by the end of the round.

I think it's time for her to start from scratch again. This is embarrassing.

I can't see how these kind of showings are benefiting the sponsors. She isn't making the cuts for weekend television coverage. And withdrawing from the tournaments isn't do much for her sponsors either.

Maybe the sponsors who are considering inviting Wie, should have a backdoor conversation with Annika.

I was reading USA Today's article on Alexis Thompson and lots of the people wrote comments trashing Alexis since they think she wants to cash in like Michelle. Michelle is no longer bringing good publicity to the game of golf. A time out would be good for all -- Michelle, LPGA, PGA, etc.

Yeah, even though Julieta's win wasn't technically a major. It probably felt just like one if not even more intense coming down the stretch. Morgan and Julieta are both amazing players and are a real asset to the LPGA Tour.

Looks like it could turn out to be yet another great LPGA major championship.

With the tremendous upside of the signing and marketing of Tiger Woods, Nike took a shot and played Wie to the hilt.

They lost this one. She has turned out to be a dud. Some people peak early....more so with female athletes. It isn't the first time this has happened with golfers, and it won't be the last.

She does not appear to have the mental make-up to turn things around.

Time for everyone to move on and find the next "phenom". hahaha

Didn't Alexis Thompson qualify for this event? Big difference between that and what Ms. Wie has been doing.

"It's very frustrating because I know I played better than this," Wie said. "It's just a very fine line between shooting 69 and shooting what I shot today."

:)

Oh, come on. I thought we'd seen the worst of it a few weeks ago but this is beyond the beyond.

I feel very bad for the poor girl. I hear she's not broken par in the last 20 odd rounds. Whatever anyone says, that's a very poor show. She's gone from "greatest talent ever" to average hacker in just a few months. Those LPGA members who have been pi$$ed off by Wie and her team in the past will be laughing it up large.

I hope someone tells her to take a break. Fast. The saddest thing is I bet those advising her have latched on to the fact that not letting the "injuries" heal gives them an excuse to fall back on every tournament. This whole thing looks like it will end in tears and a nervous breakdown.

There you go. The old wrist fall back. Classy and not at all predictable.

The root cause of this whole problem comes down to face. Greed, hubris and dishonesty are all integral.

I hope she finds some sanctuary at University but it might well be the opposite. Students are well informed and opinionated. Before Mom and Dad even drop her off at the campus she might already be the most unpopular and ridiculed girl in school. She won't be able to handle that and will drop out citing some BS excuse (wrist too sore to hold pen) and then she's got real problems.

Let's see where she is in a year and hope for the best.
