Flightscope Xi or Xi+

Looking to purchase a launch monitor for mainly use on outdoor range. Narrowed it down to the Flightscope.

Unfortunately the 5000 for the Xi+ is a little too steep for the budget. The Xi is more reasonable at 2500 however the lack of spin, LA, etc. data is a concern. I like to get info/data for driver shafts to dial in my driver - never ending it seems.

Wondering if Flightscope is able to upgrade the Xi to provide the additional data found on the Xi+ down the road when the budget allows...

Yes they allow you to upgrade, however it's my understanding that they no longer sell the Xi....I would contact Flightscope directly if I was you. They are great with customer service.

I did notice that Flightscope doesn't offer the Xi on their website although I see them selling new for 2500 on the Mitchell Golf website.

Mitchell doesn't keep any on hand, and are a distributor. I would tend to bet they just have not updated their site. If FS has taken them off the site, I would think they are no longer available. Same unit, so I would bet they either didn't have much in the way of sales, or once people bought them, they upgraded the firmware to enable the Xi+ data.

 

That's just my thoughts of course...no facts.

I just checked the Flightscope website and it looks like they are still showing the Xi model with all the details/specs, etc.

don't know if that means they're still selling it.

I looked last night after I saw iTeach make the same remarks about him thinking they discontinued and couldn't find it. Did you google search or step through from the main page?

I actually did both - directly to Flightscope.com and via Google searching for Flightscope Xi.

Strange, I don't see the Xi anymore if I go to the main page. Can still get to it through google though.

 

Probably best to call. As mentioned before, they are good people, very willing to help and answer questions.

Sent an email to the Flightscope support department and got a response at 0230 in the am from Schalk - who wrote that they are in fact still selling the Xi model and would put me in touch with the sales dept.

Flightscope is a South African company, so they are a few hours ahead of the US.

True, but most of their support is out of Orlando, Florida in the US. They kind of have guys running around the clock.

Yea great response so far this am out of Orlando by the support dept and sale dept. several emails back and forth.

They are definitely still selling and supporting the Xi.

Waiting on response now on what the upgrade would cost to unlock the Xi and add the features of the Xi +.

I'm pretty sure they actually change out the unit, ie, you send your Xi back + $2500 more (ish) and they send you an Xi+. Let me know if they say differently, but that is my understanding.

I am interested in this also....this would make the most sense. The $2500 price point has you reeled in, but we balk at $5000

Its actually just a software update (and a change of faceplate). I have the Xi+ and they occasionally offer specials to upgrade to the Xi tour.

 

It's a great unit. I went with the plus for the spin numbers. I use it both inside and out and it has performed very well.

Yeah I'm hanging out on a special of some sort. Flipping up between the Skytrak and the Xi. The subscription fee for the Skytrak is very offputting. $2500 for the Xi is a pretty good price. Just got to get it past the wife.

Not sure what the current upgrade prices are, but here is a thread from a while ago. Was $3,500 to upgrade to the + from the regular Xi.
