San Diego Golf - This weekend

I'd like to play Torrey or Maderas, not necessarily both. (Torrey aerated last week)

 

What's another good option, cheaper, but still a solid course?

 

Would like to rent of golf board too, being from Ohio, no courses have that around me.

 

Any suggestions?

I'm a single, anyone want to meet up?

Golf boards are available at maderas but weekend rate for out of towners is rather steep

Maderas is worth the money even though it's expensive. Torrey is even more expensive and definitely do not play it a week after they've aerated. You want to play a course like that when it's in good shape.

 

Looks like all of the Saturday morning tee times are gone, but there are Sunday morning times available. $210 is the going rate for a morning tee time, or you can pay $150 on golf now for 11:50 AM.

 

Aviara - $250 Saturday 7:00 AM single on Golf now... great course, but expensive

 

Steele Canyon is a good track for the price. It is East of downtown and winds through the hills. This is your "best value" and a good option if you play both days.

 

**Remember, Sunday at 2 AM the clocks turn back. I know with smart phones that automatically update the time it's easier, but I've known my fair share of buddies who have shown up an hour late to tee time! Think about it this way... if you book a 7 AM tee time, your body will still feel like it's 6 AM

Do not go to Barona! Their greens are dead and diseased. Call to the Pro Shop and they will even tell you so!

 

Torrey may not be worth the non local rate especially due to the greens being punched, but I am just spoiled living here, understand it may be a once in a lifetime opportunity for others.

 

If there is only one course not named Torrey Pines you play while out here it should be Maderas. It is bar none the best public course in my opinion. The extra cost to play Aviara is not worth it if you ask me.

 

If you want ocean views, Coronado's muni is worth a look for a fraction of the cost. Not as scenic as Torrey, but a fun and sneakily challenging play nonetheless.

Found a Golf now at Maderas for $88, can't beat that. Saturday at 1:50 if anyone wants to join

thinking about playing Torrey too Sunday cuz their twilight starts at 11:30 due to time change, made a 1PM tee time

You might try Mt Woodson for a cheaper round, but still interesting course.

Take Maderas or Aviara... Told bad about Barona, was thoroughly disappointed... Swing up to Pechanga!

Pechanga's fun and would be a good complement to Maderas if you have time for two rounds...so is Steele Canyon. Aviara is a fun splurge play, but if you're going to drop that kind of cash I'd go up to Pelican in Newport
