Will tipping a rogue black turn it to silver ?

I've been playing a 60 gram rogue silver regular in my g30 at 44.5 ". Feel like it is a good fit for my 95 to 100 swing speed, but have a hard time playing a fade. So thought I might benefit from a slightly heftier shaft and got a Rogue black 70 regular from the bay and thought I would tip about .75" to firm up the tip...

 

It turns out that the shaft I bought is "made for Cobra" but I couldn't read that on the eBay photo.

 

Any comments about tipping rogues or about the "made for" rogue black in general would be welcome.

 

Am I correct in my observation that Rogue driver shafts play a bit stiffer than their stated flex ?

Well, there is no standard for flex so whether something plays softer or firmer than their 'stated flex' is very subjective and depends a lot on what specific experiences the person answering might have with other shafts. However I will say that if you look at averages, the rogues would be a bit on the higher end of the spectrum.

 

Tipping a black will make it a bit closer to the silver, but it wont really turn it into an exact duplicate of a silver. How close or how much difference you might notice (if any) will depend a lot on your particular swing and sensitivities.

 

Sorry, can't really comment on the made for cobra version. I've seen lots of conflicting reports here on the forum. Some say they are the same, some say they are different. Best way to find out for sure is to contact Aldila CS directly, they are typically very open about how the proprietary shafts they make are different from the aftermarket versions.
