Nobody really matches the creative thinkers at Ping, how do you assess the amount of effort in devising 'G2','G5','G10' ad nauseam....?

Make Pi5 look like a lightbulb moment.

Nicoll O'Leven 'Royale' and 'Aristocrat' irons have a pleasing sound and I always liked Slazenger 'Plus One',which I believe referred to handicap rather than score after watching Jim Rhodes of South Staffs absolutely fizzing balls down the range at a Midlands PGA event many years ago.

T-Bone was good. I also used Majic named after my Lab. Haha

Hickories have many good ones

And now we know why the Man, the Myth, the Legend, goes by Majic here.

Thank you for sharing Mr. Moore.

Tim sorta off topic but I noticed in your signature the Chico putter. It reminded me that I had a Chico Martinez Northwestern sand wedge many years ago. It was in the 80s. I was messing around shopping with my wife and MIL in Wally World one night and went to the sports section and of course looking at the cheap golf clubs. I picked up this sand wedge heck it sat good and had good weight so I bought it. I know I paid less than $10 for it. Took it home and slid a Crown Cord grip on it which was my thing back then. The darn thing hit good. I remember all the guys made fun of it. I made quite a few saves with it back in the day though

One really stands out. We had a big game going one day at the old Carolina Country Club in Charlotte NC. Hole #4 is a par 4 down the hill short hole with a creek in front of the green. It was a lay up hole for me usually a 1 iron. For some reason that day I scorched the 1 iron and was in that creek. My partner was in trouble on the left. I ended up playing that ball out of the creek with Chico and into the hole for a 2. Un nerved our opponents and we went birdie eagle on the next 2 holes then birdie birdie on 8 and 9. Won 3 bets. From then on that creek was known as "Chico's Creek"--- I ended up wearing that wedge out on the face and bottom because it was cheap soft metal to begin with. The only soft feeling wedge I ever liked. I have since then found a couple of them but none ever hit like that one.

Edit: From what I have been told that creek and hole does not exist any more because that whole course has been changed around drastically. It WAS an Donald Ross design old school as heck. I loved the place. My friend and partner that day he and his family had been members for at least 30 years. When they messed with the Ross design and redid the course he was so ticked off he resigned and joined another club. He said he tried to play it a few years back when his course was closed due to construction and they had a recrip agreement. He told me he left after only 6 holes. He told me man it just ain't the same course. He told me and I quote direct "Hell fire they even did away with Chico's Creek" Enough for me I will never play there

I will leave one of the Scottish guys to tell us what a "Snuggie" is ... (that means you Birly LOL), though probably some made up Marketing BS ... :)

My wife thinks "Power Thrusts" was/is entirely inappropriate.

And how about "LFF (long flying f----er)" for a driver

"Turfriders" is one of my favorites

My absolute favorite club ever created - '50-'51, '52-'53, and '54-'55 versions.

I like the playability better than my best M85, 693 or any other persimmon driver.

Although I couldn't afford one 20-30 years ago when I was at my very best off the tee.

The '50-'51 red fiber insert 693's big brother and the '52-'53 wbw insert M85's big brother.

Long Flying F---er?

Large F---ing Face?

Let The F---er Fly?

The 3rd one is what I've heard the most.

The 2nd one is what I heard first.

Question for Charley?

I heard the name came from Tommy Armour telling Toney his take on the club.

The "LFF", to me, is the absolute classic name of a golf club ever made. I also have only heard "Let the F#@%er Fly." I am fortunate that I finally own one. I suspect it is a 1954-1955 model with a W/R/W insert. It is going for refinish soon!

You wonder what gets into people's heads when they decide that they need to mess around with a Ross design.
