No hate or love here, just an honest question - why does everyone think he's so intelligent? He didn't graduate with high grades, or even graduated college at all, so he's not actually a Scientist, right? And most all of his golf theory stuff are his old coach's theories, not his own, right? So what am I missing?

I think Bryson is good for the game. The game needs people who are different, have a personality, and are not afraid to show it. If you don't believe me just look at NASCAR.

It used to be real men who would race you to the end and now it is full of cookie cutter guys who all graduated from the same finishing school and are almost the same.

Just look in the stands, no more fans at the races. I think it is very refreshing to see someone playing the game differently with different equipment and who understands

and can talk about the equipment he uses. I applaud Cobra and Bridgestone for taking a chance on Bryson. Yes right now he may be his own worse enemy, but remember he is young, and the thing I see in him is focus, and belief. I truly believe he will be a good PGA golfer, he may have to go through some more ups and downs but I think he has what it takes. I appreciate him for who he is and the fact that he is brave enough to be different. My son (17) plays the Cobra one lengths and I (55) play the Sterlings. We have both improved and love the single length concept. Yes it's not for everyone, but like so many before me have said, don't knock it before you try it.

Power on Bryson, I believe in you and a lot of us do!! Only time will tell, and I am willing to patiently wait for Bryson's time to come.

I will never understand the hate for Bryson on here. There is nothing wrong with being smart. Honestly, we need more smart people. And he's a little different, so what? He's not hurting anybody. He's not hurting the game. He's not hurting the tour. He's got a pretty impressive resume for someone his age, and does not deserve the constant ridicule.
Give me a break. Just because he possesses adequate intelligence doesn't mean we should celebrate elements about his personality that are annoying by standard measure. Most notably the desire he clearly has to draw attention to himself in any way possible. He lacks self awareness and unfortunately for him his sponsors are going to chew him up and spit him out onto the public before he has a chance to prove that his "smarts" translate to any kind of significant success on tour. He made himself an easy target by focusing on bs outside of golf as part of his schtick and now he has to live up to it.

The above bolded statement is the comment that gets me the most about the BDC haters. I mean do you not realize that every one of those guys on the PGA tour are a product that they personally are selling to make a living? If he was just a normal guy that got his card and played in events we couldn't care less about him or what he does, which results in less sponsors exemptions and off course money for HIM. But he draws attention to himself in mostly a good way (seems down to Earth, nice guy, dresses differently but not all that much different). I'm not trying to say that BDC is just doing a money grab and planning to run off, the guy has serious game and will get his own. I kinda see his career at worst being like CH3 (some wins and lots of on/off course money, but not a house hold name), or you could go people with similar pedigrees (lets say winning the US Am and NCAA) ala Ryan Moore. Or the putter could click and he'd be a top 20 player. You never know with these guys.

Edit: and just to further prove my point, like look at Wes Bryan. I mean his thing is the trick shots. I didn't even realize he was a legit golfer for a long time, I just thought him and his brother bounced the ball around on their wedges... You gotta make yourself stick out if you want to be more than just part of the crowd...
