Heading down to Orlando next weekend, any courses that are must plays?

 

Probably looking at three rounds total unless courses allow for 36.

Orange County courses as mentioned above it a good choice as well. I am playing Bay Hill May 12. Looking to sneak in a round on Monday May 8. Just not 100% sure yet.

I would have to play in the morning of the 8th as I have check in at the hotel at around. I might see what I work out with the wife. I am probably around the same handicap. My game is just so inconsistent. My last round was a 78 but the round before that was probably over 90. Stopped keeping score on like the 7th hole.

I think champions gate is under renovations on the course right now? Might want to double check that before going. IIRC that's why it's cheap right now.

 

OC National is always very nice but sometimes there's tournaments that close down the courses so also call them ahead of time.

I'm thinking Championsgate CC rather than the Championsgate resort. Teeoff and golfnow have times for this/next week and great reviews.

Nursing a thumb right now so my plans may be dashed anyways.

Sunday-36 at world woods

Monday am-what's a nice beach near world woods? Pine island?

Mon 4pm-thurs 9am convention at JW Marriott grande lakes

 

I'm flying out of Orlando Thursday around 530pm. What are the top public courses in Orlando? Looking for 1 great course. Showering in the locker room after my round and before my 4 hour flight is a must.

 

Ocn-good reviews, which course is better? Rates?

 

Celebration-played 9 there a few years ago & really enjoyed it.

 

Ritz grande lakes-def most convenient b/c it's where I'm staying. Not sure if Norman is my fav golf course architect. Pics look ok. I'm assuming conditions & service will be good.

OCN is great, both courses are good championship level courses, you can probably play for under $100 on Golfnow.

Celebration is fun, the course isn't as great at OCN, a few quirky holes, but a good fun track.

Ritz will probably be the nicest amenities but will be the priciest, should be in great shape.

Waldorf is nice and the course is always in good shape, but it's very tight and narrow... typical resort course.

I highly recommend Shingle Creek. Thad Layton of the Arnold Palmer Design group did a great job on it and the green complexes are really cool - lots of interesting contours and shots for you to play around them. And I can confirm a good shower in the locker room as well.
