Courses near Park City?

Headed to SLC/Park City at the end of July for a conference. Will be staying near Park City/Kimball Junction. I will only have time for one round and want to make sure I play a top course - conditions, layout, etc...not concerned about green's fee's. Unfortunately I don't have a private course pro to make calls to other clubs. If you had one course to play in the Park City area what would it be? I'll have a car so distance (within an hour or so) is not an issue. I'm a solid 7 hdcp and usually play from blue tee's 6500-6700 yds.

These are the courses that I've read about in the forums but after researching I'm finding that most are private or part of a planned community? Thoughts?

Glenwild

Promontory

Victory Ranch

Park Meadows CC

Tuhaye

Red Ledges

Of those courses mentioned all are private. The course I know of that used to allow outside tee times, not sure if they still do was Promontory. It was 250 bucks a few years ago. The others you aren't gonna get on unless you know some one. There are some good public tracks within an hour.

Ok, thanks - that's what I thought. I probably should just call Promontory.

What public courses would you recommend? Is the Mountain Dell course worth playing or is Solider Hollow the better of the two?

Great, thanks for the info. Any other courses I should be considering?

really no, that is a step above the others. that is the best and then 2nd tier would be silver course, mt dell canyon or lake, wasatch mountain course or lake, and then crater springs.

all of these would be an enjoyable round of golf

Soldier Hollow - Silver is better IMO. Silver feels more like golf to me than Gold does on the side of the Mtn. Some of the holes just aren't well fit.

The Canyons golf course is a lot of fun. I've played there twice in the past couple weeks and they treat you very well. I highly suggest it. Playing from the black tees is still only 6k yrds and par 68! Their record is still only -1 though. A par 5 at the course is over 500 yards but driveable because of the elevation. Ill try to attached a picture of a couple of the holes. Lot's of par 3's on the course and all are under 200 yrds from blacks.

Wasatch Mtn is a very nice course as well, both sides.

First pic is the green of the Par 5. You can't even see the fairway so just have to trust your 5 iron will land in the fairway.

2nd pic if a par 5 that plays up hill to the right and reachable in 2. Has a nice back stop to play shots off of. To the left in the same picture is me standing in the tee box with the fairway and green of the par 4.
