Reflections from a Windy Round

I think I should move across the pond

I got out to play today and it was windy as all heck. Flagsticks bending, got tired of my bag blowing over so just layed it down. I also shot my best round of the year at one of the tougher tracks. 71.9/134/6639 It's not all that long but has some tough greens.

Anyway, I like to mess around working the ball and today everything was just on pretty well. I think I hit the world record for a 3w on #1, lol. I hit a fade that rode the wind into the downslope and had a 58* pitch into a 380yd. hole. I just shook my head. Next hole I was left with a 7iron after a smoked drive into a 357yd. hole. I had a nice tight lie and figure I'd try this low 3/4 draw I've been working on. I had to learn this shot after seeing Boo Weekly use it at the British Open. I got it right, fought it's way to the top of the stick where the wind was like a wall and dropped to inside 10ft.

I played my way around pretty good. I play a lower trajectory anyway but got to try out a lot of shots I've been messing with. I had a 3yd. fade going with the driver all day, just ripping those off like nobody's business. I managed a +5 77 with one birdie. My best round of the year so far and probably in some of the toughest conditions wind-wise. Not sure what to attribute it to, maybe just concentrating more and using more management.

Sometimes it works out that way. I had my best of the year yesterday in 25mph winds.
