Divot Help!!!

Divots go left of target but the ball goes straight???

Right now after I set up and hit a shot I stand back and look at my divot. Right now I am finding that my divot is aimed to the left of my target while my ball goes to the right (slightly). The ball does not fade, it just goes straight. I have not idea what could cause this. I tried to fix it today and I put a draw on the ball, but when I did this the draw just made the ball go to its intended target in the first place and not farther left.

Help please.

Well what the divot shows you is your swing path, so one would assume you swing path is outside-in. As for the ball flight, I'm not too sure. My guess is you are pushing the ball, but that's not for certain.

If the divot is going only slightly left and you are hitting it straight, nothing wrong with that since the divot is after club/ball separation and the clubhead should be moving left shortly after impact. If you think the divot's going more left than you expect (more than just a few degrees) then you're hitting a wipe. Clubface is square to the traget line (or slightly open) with a slight outside in path. With mid and short irons you will hardly notice any fade, especially if there is even the slightest right to left wind.

Seems like timing would affect your swing... are your shots crisp and are your distances consistent?

I had a similar problem... work on your take away you could be taking it inside and then a slight outside in.

I have and am trying to fix an outside to inside and my teacher told me that it went straight because I wasn't turning my wrist as soon as you should. I have been trying to fix that with an inside to outside and turning my wrist over properly. Thats why mine went straight cause occasionally i would turn them over like im supposed to and it would go right with the path of the club.
