One Plane Swing vs. Two Plane Swing

I was just wondering what most of you thought was a better overall swing plane. The one or two plane swing. Also, if you guys could list the pros/cons of both then that would be great.

Now lets see who's gonna win the ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN.

For me it is a no brainer:

More distance

More accuracy

More consistency

Lower scores

This post sort of shows a lack of understanding on golf.

I watched the Hardy DVD set and read the book. IMOP Mr. Hardy makes a great sale of his product but in reality there are too many variables that he smothers with over simplification. Most people I see trying the one plane swing never touch the backswing plane Hardy is asking and end-up whipping the club over-the-top w/ an agressive shoulder motion to the left. It's like watching someone get caught-up in a unfolding lawn chair. Or they get their arms working around their body like a helicopter and top, push, chunk, & hook till the cows come home. I've never personally met someone that got this on their own through watching the dvds. However, I've heard of lots of guys that received personal instruction and benefitted. One guy I met was sure he was a one-planer...6'3 tall and bent over like a tourist at the Grand Canyon. He knew just enough to kill every natural good motion in his original procedure. Forget hitting the divot after the ball...this guy was trying to throw his right arm downward to avoid the "stuck" position mentioned in the dvd. The only way he would ever the hit the ball before the ground would be to glue it to his clubface.

 

Like the stack & tilt...I think this series is going to help the better amateur that understands the golf swing and struggles with the typical too far from the inside approach to the golf ball. Just the pennies in my pocket.

lakewoodgcc, nice take. I really do agree with you about the truth about actually executing the Hardy one plane swing. I was all ears at the beginning, the book advertises the one place swing as more athletic, less moving parts, less reliant on timing, etc. Great sales pitch, especially how easy and simple it is. But then a multi set DVD is needed to really get it, Hardy has his own forum to explain it, follow up DVDs are released, another book. In the end, my opinion is that it is just another way to successfully swing the golf club. The rub is it is very similar to any other reputable method, not necessarily better or worse. It certainly is becoming as taxing and high maintenance as all the others.
