how long did it take to come back

I have injured my elbow tendon, I guess you would call it golfers elbow. I want to know how long it normally takes for somebody to come back from this. I have taken plenty of antiinflamitories, and would really like to swing pain free. I have been sitting out about a week but don't really want to push it. So how long should it take.

Welcome to the club. I just consulted with my Doc and he recommended therapy. Thankfully my wife is a therapist.

 

You are looking at an injury that has no quick fix. Rest, rest and more rest is the key. I ice it many times a day and wear a band that takes the stress off the tendon and puts it on other muscles. Part of my therapy is to gradually strengthen the area and try to prevent further injury. Good luck with it.

i suffered with it all last summer thru the winter it takes some time, get a forarm strap from the doc it helps the healing alot. and keep that arm straight

I have been dealing with the pain for quite a few months now...

 

I play 3-5 times a week and practice at the range when I don't play so you can imagine how much use my elbows get. My sister in law is a doctor and she just tells me to ice it and take aleve. She tells me to rest but I just cant risk getting bad at golf, it took me some time to get my swing where it's at so I don't want to regress.

 

Best thing to do is rest if the pain is bad... Lots of rest and ice and aleve will do the trick in about 2-3 weeks. :lol:

Took me six months to fully get over "golfer's elbow". I couldn't hit golf balls, but I got REALLY good at my short game!

I'm 42 and have played sports my whole life. College tennis player so I know what you're going through with the elbows. My right from tennis and left one from golf. I really try to grip as soft as possible on my driver swing that seems to help when my left elbow is hurting from really trying to rip a hard draw.
