Best deal going?

I'm going to start working out again next month and plan on going heavy for a few months. I'd like to get some protein powder, possibly something with very high carbs, like more of a weight gainer to start off. I'll probably drop to a lower carb protein and use creatine for a few months after as well. I bought stuff online cheap a few years ago but can't remember where. Anyone know of a good place with good prices? Also, what are the "new" decent brands. Not the top of the line rediculous stuff but something middle of the road. Basically, doesn't make me $hit my brains out. lol.

Wait! Remeber, according to Gary Player, that creatine is an illegal substance! :lol: ;)

 

But I also lift, between 3 and 5 times a week. Remember that Carbs are the body's first source of energy, fat is second. N.O.-XPLODE is a very very good supplement, with creatine and some various energy supplements, and not too expensive. Should be able to get it at most retailers.

Bodybuilding.com is a great place to buy...even if you have to pay for it. Shipping is extremely, extremely reasonable and the prices are the best I've found--especially when it comes to name-brands. They also have a very large forum packed with information and, to which Hogan will probably attest, good articles.

Thanks guys. I'm going to start with lighter workouts, doing the heavier exercise motions, just lighter weight and mid to high reps. Once I've gotten all the joints ready to go again I'll hit heavier for a while to build some mass back up. I'm down to 150 and it's too thin. I used to work out a lot and was up to 190 at one point, that was a little too big for my frame. I snapped my ankle bad at that weight playing basketball, have 2 plates and 6 screws in there now. I'll be looking to load double my weight in carbs and just under it in protein per day to start. I'd like to go back up to around 175-180 then drop back to 170. Considering I did 148 to 189 in under 18 months last time, I think this should be doable.

 

I didn't see these last 2 posts.... thanks and I'll check the site out. I got a lot of info from magazines and from my cousin last time. He competed for Mr. Connecticut 3 times when he was younger. He got the monster genes... 6'5" 270. He's big now but fit, he was a fricken monster in competition form. He said he used to eat 2 dozen eggs and over 5 lbs. of meat a day. lol.

I've been using Nutrition Express. Found them to be pretty good. I second the NO Explode. I switched to this 3 months ago and feel like I get a much better workout now. And then just switched to Muscle Milk for my after workout shake. Just a scoop of NO Explode before and a can of MM after. Not a big mess anymore making a full on post workout shake. I also started drinking a new nutritional beverage called Mona Vie. I take 2 2oz shots a day. Breakfast and dinner. Get all my 11-13 fruit servings in those 2 shots. Have you tried Amino Vital? You might want to keep it in mind for when you want to start "phasing down" to lower carb stuff. It's got 8g carbs - but it pumps up your amino acid level, boosts proteins. It even tastes pretty good.

Thanks for bringing this thread back up. I really need to get my butt in gear and start working out. I won't have any carb issues for a while I'd imagine. I'm 6'1" and 148lbs. right now. I work as a professional mover so I burn a ton of calories at work. It's kind of like a cubicle guy taking his contents, desk included, and moving it to the parking lot and back up 72 times... and no, you can't use the elevator. :D

 

Now what I need is something with protein and max carbs that won't make me shart my pants 5 times a day.
