Why did you think it was garbage?

I just found myself laughing at the film almost the whole time.The acting was really bad, Luke's attitude about things was not believable and all the new Jedi force tricks,etc were a turn off.Leah flying through space,Kylo and Rea with their new telepathic communicating.The whole thing just didn't click for me.I enjoyed my hot buttered popcorn much more than the movie itself.

very well said... agree completely... saw it a second time ( my 9 year old and I) and found myself laughing ( in disgust) through the whole thing... second time made it worse... was like finding out santa clause was a crack head... ruined future star wars for me for sure... hard to trust a series after that

This movie and even TFA just confirmed that this is a joke of a franchise.

 

Anakin was a punk just like his lousy kid Luke. This guy inspired generations and ends up punking out!

 

Oh and what is the point of Rey becoming the next hero when 20 years later they will turn her into a has been hero like her punk mentor.

 

Oh and way to defeat the empire only to have it all turned on your head 20 years later; great leadership you deadbeat parents.

I like Star Wars alot and if it wasn't for the 3 TERRIBLE George Lucas going crazy with special effects in the late 90's/early 2000's three episodes it would have remained a classic series loved by overwhelming majority of moviegoers around the world.

I think the special effects via computer animation era which started sometime in the 90's has really taken away from the qualities that make motion pictures worth seeing.

 

Those prequels were not as good as the 3 originals.Again,no character development and too much focus on special effects.The light Sabre scene with Darth Mall,Obi-won and Liam Neeson(forgot his name....Qui-Gon?)was phenomenal and by far the best part of the prequels combined.I will say that The Force Awakens came pretty close to having the same tone as the originals with pretty sound character development barring the defected stormtrooper.His character is pretty weak IMO.They could have done a better job with him,maybe cast a different actor?I can see how they're trying to capture the struggle between good and bad in Kylo Ren but I feel like they're coming a bit short.Adam Driver just lacks something that Darth Vader had.You could literally feel and sense the struggle in Vader which made his character very charismatic.

 

In a nutshell that's what I feel about the Star Wars in recent years,it really just lacks the charisma it once had in a galaxy far far away............
