RTJ Golf Trail. Is this too much golf?

Hey guys,

Planned a golf trip to the trail for this May. Are we biting off more than we can chew?

Fly into Atlanta arriving at 5am, drive to Ross Bridge

Day 1

Play Ross Bridge in the morning, then Oxmoor Valley - Ridge in the afternoon

drive to Capitol Hill

Day 2

Play all 3 at Capitol Hill

Day 3

Play all 3 Grand National

Day 4

Play somewhere in Atlanta in the AM. Echelon, The Frog or Bears Best???

Fly Home in time for mothers day.

Are we going to physically be able to do this? It's 162 holes in 4 days! And is this a good experience at the trail? or any suggestions would be nice.

1. Don't kill yourself on day 1. Seems like a LOONG day, followed up by many holes of golf in the following days.

2. Day 4 Atlanta golf seems like overkill. But if you insist, those tracks you mentioned aren't the best logistically for you. I would just book wolf creek by the airport.

Must also factor in Mother's Day weekend golf (5 hour round) etc.

3. Bring multiple pairs of golf shoes. Dew season begins.

You are missing a secret gem....Cambrian Ridge in Greenville AL has 27 amazing holes and a killer par 3 course. Beautiful views and will absolutely test your game. Loblolly is an “Augusta” feeling 9 while Canyon and Sherling will force you to hit the ball where you can see and putt the ball well.

While playing in May is certainly better than playing in July, I see you are coming from Canada. We have this thing in Alabama called humidity and can suck the life out of you on long days.

All three at Cap Hill is a stretch, under the best conditions; depends on what day of the week you are there.

All three at Grand Natty is doable since one of the three is a Par 3 course.

If it were me; I'd skip the Judge at Cap Hill. Maybe just go hit your tee shot at #1 and walk away.

Have fun and stay hydrated

Not sure how old you are, but that schedule is nuts! I realize its been a long winter but if you plan on having food, drinks etc you're going to find yourself reeling...Just my opinion. Been doing Bama for 15 years now and we've cut out alot of the driving in order to golf, relax, drink and smoke cigars while enjoying our vacation...yes we are in our 40s, and yes we used to load the golf up as well when we were younger... My experience I would recommend the following:

Fly into Atlanta arriving at 5am, drive to Ross Bridge

Day 1

I will assume since you arrive at 5am that you're on a redeye flight. You're going to be tired,

Drive to Grand National 2 hours with 1 hour time change. Play Lakes the short course.

Day 2

GN Lnks then Lakes...add short if you want all 3. Remember if you tee off at 7am...you're finishing 36 holes around 6 if you take time for lunch.

Day 3

Head to Ross Bridge...Play RB the Valley or Ridge Course.

Day 4

Not sure what time your flight is but you can play early in the am right on site then head to the airport.

Or

Airport to Capitol Hill. for couple days and go back east to Grand National.

We prefer Capitol Hill over RB/Oxmoor.

All I'm saying with that much golf your going to kill yourselves and potentially ruin your following rounds. But enjoy! We are going to Grand National end of April!

I just booked one for March, and we're planning to do 18, 36, 36, 18. I never even considered 54 that's ambitious.

Haha, that's exactly what we're doing in March.

I'm doing 36, 36, 36 in early March. Driving down from Chicago Wednesday and back up Sunday.

Oxmoor Ridge then Valley day 1, Farmlinks 2x's day 2, and then was going to play Ballantrae 2x's.

I haven't booked Ballantrae yet in case we get rained out one of the first two days.

Looks like we're definitely rained out Thursday. I'm trying to reschedule our Oxmoor day to Saturday. I saw they aerated the greens too (grrr). Not much is going right so far...

They were very accommodating. We got switched to Saturday at almost the same times. Hopefully the rain misses and we can play somewhere on Thursday otherwise it might be a day at Top Golf!
