Walla Walla Country Club?

I noticed the Marcus Whitman Hotel has a stay-and-play offer that includes Wine Valley and - intriguingly - the private Walla Walla Country Club: https://marcuswhitmanhotel.com/golf-courses

The course looks interesting and it's an A.W. Tillinghast redesign. But I can't find any reviews of the course online. Has anybody played this course before? Thoughts? I'm thinking of doing a short Eastern Washington golf trip and this seems like an interesting option, but I'd love to hear from people who've played there before.

Walla Walla country club is a great course, everything you would expect in a private cc. It is very well maintained, full of friendly people who care about their course, and has multiple interesting/strategic holes. If you play there you will have a great time. That said, while totally different, Wine Valley is exceptional. Depending on your preferences and course history, if you play Wine Valley it may just become your favorite course. If you haven’t played Wine Valley before I would recommend playing multiple rounds there during your stay.

I didn't! We ended up playing Wine Valley (which was great), but I definitely plan on coming back to Walla Walla and when I do, I very much want to play WWCC. I'll give you a shout when I do!

Please do! Wine Valley is great but is just far enough out of town that I don't get a lot.

Late to this thread, but I did the Whitman stay & play (which was a very good deal) and played Wine Valley and WWCC. Simply put, WV is one of the top five courses I've ever played. WWCC is a fine course, but I would suggest playing there before WV. I played it as the afternoon round after WV, and it seemed fairly bland in comparison. If I have played WWCC first, I probably would have liked the design better.

Facilities at WWCC are great, the folks there very friendly and the course is immaculately maintained.

I’m moving to Walla Walla for a few months on a work assignment. Would love to check out WWCC at some point. Heard many nice things about it. I lived in NYC for a long time and have played many of the Tillinghast courses near there.

Say, I just wanted to mention to my fellow WRXers that if you're trying to get out to Wine Valley or Walla Walla CC there's the Pasco airport about an hour to the west of Walla Walla. I was unaware until recently that this airport existed, thinking the WW airport was the only airport in the area.

Pasco offers nonstop flights from some of the big carriers so if you're looking to get out there, you might find more nonstop travel options thru Pasco.

Now knowing this, and having played and enjoyed Gamble Sands a couple of years ago, I really want to get out and play Wine Valley (and do some wine tasting). Sounds like Walla Walla CC is a Golden Era gem, too.
