Can you guys help me out,

looking to get either the

TE Irons with UST Recoil shafts pak

or

KE4 Max with Maltby graphite shafts

can you guys explain to me what differences I would see in those two heads and the two shafts. Planning on getting the shafts in stiff.

Just to throw a slight curve.  You might want to consider the KE4 Max with the Rapport shaft.  It is a closer match to the Recoil shaft.

As far as I've seen, Britt has been calling it just the KE4 forged.  Not with a "Max" in there

Ahh you’re right. Interesting.

Well I’m still deciding whether the KE4 Max or TE Forged will be the way to go. Probably can’t wait until next year for new irons anyways. I’m in need for some now.

I am surprised they would make a forged head in the KE4 line.  It will just further blur the lines of heads.  The TS line was forged, KE4 was players/game improvement, ST was value, etc.  I would have just liked a weight system added to a TS head (TS-2W?).

I completely agree.  Discontinuing a nice lower cost 431 stainless iron design, for yet another forged offering doesn't make much sense to me.

They should have just updated the KE4 tour

I would love a more compact ke4 model, fine with it staying cast.

I hate to see this happening.  They will be foresaking their roots when they drop their least expensive iron in favor of another more expensive.

My wife has a set of the STI-2 irons.  Perfect -- very playable and reasonable enough in price to help the beginner/budget golfer.   Her first set that I built her 23 years ago are the CER Irons and hybrids.  She still plays them at our original home.

I guess all the high end forged iron sales may be driving this?

Hand you ever hit the Ke4 S? I would call it a mid sized head.

I haven't, I've only ever seen a set of DBMs in person besides my ke4 max.

If we're really throwing out wish lists here lets get a DBM finish on the new improved hypothetical compact ke4 model.

Those CER irons were nice.  I built a set of CER-E irons for my grandson many years ago.  Technology is actually pretty comparable to today's.  They need to maintain a good budget line of clubs as a starting point and to attract buyers.

TS3 review is up on Let's Play Thru!

I think my man here likes a lower VCOG. A glowing review and will hopefully shift some demand to the TS3.

It's funny, I've been playing my PTM Black set primarily and decided to give the TS3's a run yesterday, largely to get a feel for the DG S300 vs the Modus 120s I have in the PTM set. I had almost the exact experience Gabe did. TONS of greens in reg, including 5 birdie putts under 10 feet... and no birdies. Couldn't blame the irons, though. They really are a great club. I had forgotten how narrow the sole is, which is really helpful getting into our insanely thick rough at my home course.

I'll add that these reviews also help out with the resale of these when it comes time to move on. I've been buying and reselling Maltby for a few years. I've never had a problem selling them but it usually takes a little while. After the KE4 MAX video, I sold that set the same week I listed them and the guy hadn't heard of Maltby until the video. The TS4's I listed and had 4 offers in the first few days. Ultimately I sold them to another forum member but still, the recognition and interest is growing! Maltby selling out of clubs isn't optimal for demand, but it also allows Maltby to get going on their new stuff sooner because the budget for R&D is being fulfilled a lot quicker. It's good for everyone!

That's It... I want TS3s... But I suffer from short-armitis. Should I just buy the components and go to a fitter and have them make them, or can I figure it out?

This is one of the more odd questions but I see the Maltby (same as the Maxfli from 2021) stand bag is on sale. I can't lie I kind of like the idea of a Maltby bag 🤣 and have been wanting a stand bag. Would I be better off finding a used, lighter-weight bag? I feel like at this point I'm teetering on absurdity but I guess I'm a Maltby stan now.

TS3 question regarding the very low VCOG.

I played the first STi irons, and the gap wedge was borderline unplayable because of how high it flew.  The pitching wedge was not a lot better.  And the VCOG spec (6 irons) was a good bit higher than that of the TS3.

I play the TS2, and the wedge trajectories are good.  6 iron VCOG of .782, I think.  The wedges are properly designed, for me.

So the question is, what should I expect for wedge trajectories in the TS3?   Have they designed them to fly lower than the ultra SGI wedges of the original STi?

High is okay.  Moon balls are not.  Put it even simpler, do you see moon balls with your TS3 wedges?  Thanks.
