Phoenix - Cart Paths allowed next weekend (10/25-28) anywhere decent?

I got a last minute (and free!) invite to PHX next weekend and am trying to figure out golf for a few days. Unfortunately after searching the forums and making a few calls, I am learning that many (all?) courses will be closed or Cart Path Only. The problem is my playing partner has limited mobility - he still plays to a single digit but he can't walk more than a few yards.

 

So, can anybody recommend any courses that are not cart path only for next weekend? The only thing I've found is McCormick Palm which looks to be not all that great and we certainly don't want to play it 3 days in a row. But, frankly, we'll take anything.

Can't comment on PHX but lots of courses will make exceptions for someone with such physical limitations. "Handicapped cart" or similar with a flag indicating you are allowed to roam off the cart paths. Have you asked the courses you'd prefer to play if they can accommodate your playing partner?

Thanks - yep, I'm familiar with the orange flag policies but the few that I asked won't do it during post-overseeding - and I understand as the carts can do some real damage.

 

So, any suggestions would be great - still searching.

Drive up to the Sedona area and play Oakcreek, they don't overseed.

Thanks, but a 5 hour round trip drive makes for an awful long day. Hopefully something a bit closer to PHX/Scottsdale. And, yes, I understand that my quest may not be possible but it would be great to find a non-CPO course

If you were coming in this weekend (tomorrow), there are still a couple of courses open that haven't overseeded yet and have no major cart restrictions; Camelback-Padre and a few of the Sun City courses (SC South, Riverview, Cimarron) come to mind, but they are all closing Monday 10/22 for overseed last I heard. I think for the following weekend you are pretty much SOL as fore_life commented. Pretty much everywhere will be either closed and in the overseed process, or open after overseed but CPO.

 

If you are staying in the far east part of the valley by chance (like Apache Junction, east side of Gilbert or Mesa, etc.) you could possibly get to Apache Stronghold in 1.5hr or less. They don't overseed, conditioning is usually very primitive, but good bones from what I read. I would have to believe they let the carts drive pretty much everywhere but the greens. Has a basic casino on-site if you are in to that kind of thing, could make for a decent day-trip.

I was in town last week and we played Ocotillo and Painted Mountain. Not great courses, but we drove the carts everywhere and the prices were cheap. Ocotillo was actually in pretty good shape I thought. We drove out to Laughlin to get away from the overseed issues. Played Laughlin Ranch and Mojave Resort, both really nice courses actually.

If he has a legitimate medical reason(sounds like he does) I would talk to the shop and they may grant him 90* access or at least into the rough. I remember Wekopa being very accommodating to me after my hip replacements and the Marshall seeing me walk very slowly to and from my ball. After about hole 4 he granted me permission to go 90*, they were close to being off path though. If a course just opened it might not be as likely
