Played last week in wet conditions. Had a little 15 foot chip shot to the hole. Hit the ball 3 times somehow with the same swing. First stroke hit the ball, as it was coming up my follow through hit the ball again already in the air, popped it straight up and hit the d#@m thing a third time.

One swing, three hits, three strokes :russian_roulette:

I hit two balls in the water and made seven on the eighteenth hole it gave me a score of 102.

I was pissed.

A member told me that the only reason I was any good was I practiced so much. I told him I could practice for a week and beat him left handed..

The rest of the membership loved it. Our bet was a couple hundred bucks but the other bets totaled close to ten thousand dollars.

I had him beat badly by 15 and he quit. Then they were betting if I would break a hundred. Must have been 500 people watching probably the biggest gallery I ever had.

Later the member tried to get me fired over it. He ended up quitting the club when they told him to stick it.

That week of practicing left handed has come in handy a few times against fences and trees but I never again played left handed. Had a wicked bad slice. ;)

Was a little confused on the scoring when hitting that water. Now I know you have to count all strokes you've taken plus a stroke penalty for every ball hit in the hazard.

Think of it as counting a stroke every time the ball goes from point A to point B, regardless of whether it's been hit with the club, or "returned" to a spot "figuratively" from water, OB, etc.

For instance, when you hit a ball into a lake, you have to count the stoke that caused the ball to go into the water (1). Then, you have to count the "stroke" of moving the ball from the water back to the hitting surface (2 - and that's the figurative moving of the ball, assuming you couldn't retrieve that actual ball). The next stroke of the ball that you put on the playing surface would be (3). And so on...
