After messing around with TP5x, Chrome Soft x, Pro V1x, and Duo Professional, back to Z Star XV

So many options. But the XV being slightly lower spinning throughout the bag was most effective ball. Still believe it is the best wind ball on the market. You do give up some stopping power though compared to the Pro V1x.

I agree... proV1x is spiniest from 50y in, but it just overspins in driver and irons; plus full wedges pull back too much.

 

I want some longer than the prov1/proV1x in driver/mid irons (hence want less spin); but wit more stop and drop than I get with the AVX...

 

Is it the Srixon XV? TP5x?

I find that I get more distance out of the XV than the Pro V because of the reduced spin. However, wedges back up about one to five feet depending on loft. An eight iron for me will finish about 3 to 5 feet in front of pitch mark. Four and five irons roll out about ten feet.

For me the XV is longer and better in the wind than both the V1 and V1x. It also doesn't spin as much on full wedges but enough on partial wedges and chips which is exactly what I am looking for. XV is better all around.
