Golf in Siesta Key area

I am headed down in a couple weeks for the first time in the Siesta Key area, would like to play 3 rounds the week of 28 July thru 2 August 2019 , I would like to play some nice courses and any suggestions thanks in advanced. 48 year old male, police officer / military, 3 Handicap

University Park and Legacy Golf Club at Lakewood Ranch might be your closest/best bets.

Sarasota National gets a lot of love if you don't mind driving a bit farther down to Venice.

Played TPC Prestancia this past Sunday, the stadium course thanks to GolfSRQ. Had a great time with his son and him and their hospitality. The course is very nice, interesting layout and would play again.

 

Sarasota National - huge fairways, nice course and great layout

 

Esplanade - again huge fairways, nice course, fun, not difficult.

 

Lakewood National - 2 year old track, again big fairways and nice greens. Would play again

 

Sarasota has some great golf courses, people here are very lucky. Hopefully I will get back down here soon, and maybe in 7 years retire and move here for several months.

Glad you could come out , we had a good day together. Nice to meet new people through golf.

Lakewood national is very nice, they had a web.com event a Few months back and have a five year contract to continue to host. They are close to finishing the 2nd 18 hole course and might make it private soon as the neighborhood is selling out quickly. Play it while you can, it is a treat.

I would stay away from Legacy at Lakewood Ranch! Terrible conditions. All the good golf will be about 30-45 minutes east, but Lakewood National should be top choice followed by Sarasota National and University Park CC. If you can get on Longboat Key CC you won’t be disappointed there either!
