Slotting A Long Iron

Not for the faint of heart, but here's my first attempt at a TMAGish slot on my Rapture 3i. A Dremel, reinforced cutoff wheel, and a steady hand are all I employed to make it. With my current setup and weight preference, I needed the weight removal more than help from thin-strikes, but this turned out semi-decent.

I'm fully aware this modification is completely illegal, but for my small-potatoes game it will suffice. I also slotted the channel parallel to the face plane and not perpendicular to the sole, so the slot has even "face" thickness from the sole, all the way through.

Not necessarily. From the equipment rules on club head features not allowed:

 

• holes through the head (**some exceptions may be made for putters and cavity back irons**);

 

And even if it is, some silicon caulk would probably take care of it.

Interesting project. I don't think you will get much if any face flexing though; the Rapture face is just too thick to flex, even with the bottom unsupported.

Yeah, flexing would be a slim chance at best, but might be a side benefit.
