Do junior golfers read this forum? Or is it mainly just parents?

Also, for parents: at what age/level did you stop reading these forums and switch over to some other forums on WRX? And which ones were helpful?

I thought the progression was to move over to Tour Talk and give unqualified advice on how PGA Tour pros could be better.

Yesterday's posts and responses made me realize this forum is becoming slightly less relevant to me based on the stage of development my child is at now - just wondering where next to turn.

Tend to agree, but its also nice to maybe share a little knowledge with folks. I wish there was a High school/AGJA/HJGT level Junior thread.

HH started one a good discussion a long time ago (albeit with a different title than it has now): [is AJGA Worth It](https://forums.golfwrx.com/discussion/1359142/is-ajga-worth-it/p1 "Is AJGA Worth It")

 

There are also some good forum posts on it over at the sand trap .com

I'm currently a sophomore collegiate golfer and I've been reading post's on here since I was a sophomore in high school. Know a bunch of kids on here as well!

Love hearing how these little 5-6 years olds are going to these World Tournaments, and if your kid isn't going to these or not hitting the ball ___ yards, then the dream of a PGA Tour Card is dashed. But there is some great insight in many of the threads. But in all reality, every kid is different, but also, I'd really like to see how many of these 5-6 year olds that are already sports specific and have multiple coaches actually pan out and make it into the Top 50 in the OWGR down the road.

 

As a parent who has a son that loves baseball and golf I'm all for him pursuing a sport that he loves, but my wife and I are both educators, and we want him to be a well rounded person, and get good grades and be a productive member of society. If he can be in that upper echelon of percentage of kids that happen to get a athletic scholarship, GREAT! But hearing some of these stories about parents and the crazy amounts of money they drop coaches and tournaments and travel is just insane! Will they consider their child a failure if they do not pan out and get to the PGA or make the money their parents spent back and then some?

 

Also, with this new legislation passing with the NCAA will we see more and more kids and parents push hard to get "paid"?
