Honma Tour World 737-455 Driver

I saw this club on sale on PGA Tour Superstore for $119.97. It was originally $499.99.

 

I have a few questions:

 

First, does anyone currently play or has played it?

 

Second, is it worth the $$$?

 

Third, they have a Vizard shaft in them? I am assuming that is the stock shaft. If so, is it a quality shaft?

Check eBay as well. I just got a 737-445 driver. I paid $50 for it including shipping. Shape was excellent. I did see some 455 and 460’s as well.

 

I am playing it this Sunday so I can’t give a review on it yet. The last two months have been horrendous off the tee for me so for the price I thought why not.

I have a 10.5 loft 455 with Vizard 50Z.

 

I got the 10.5 because the Z is supposed to be lower launch/spin.

 

2 rounds. Forgiving. Feels good. It was not that low launch/spin. Flex was a bit soft.

 

I had it tipped 1/2 and put 4 grams to get the swingweight back up. I play my drivers at 45" anyway. Shaft now seems more stable.

 

Not really workable mostly small draws. If I could do it again I would've gotten the 60 gram Z shaft.

I had a 717 with the stock Vizard, and it was a phenomenal driver. Honma makes top quality equipment. A 737 for that price, (new?), would be an absolute give away. Be wary of buying Honma equipment on ebay as Honma is one of the most counterfeited club manufacturers out there.

How is the sound?

Denser than my other driver a F7+.

I have that club in Vizard A 60 stiff. Long and straight, but I also have a 737 460 with Vizard 50Z and it is slightly longer, similar consistency. Feel on both is decent, nothing amazingly great or terrible, certainly not loud. I liked the dense feel of the Cobra F9 I gamed before the Honma, but my Honma results were slightly better distance and far straighter (F9 had stock Atmos regular).

 

The 737s are a great deal at the PGA Superstore prices. I tried the 747 but it did not perform as well as the 737s for me.

The club is now on sale for $99.99. Thinking about making a trip to hit some and see how it compares to my Cobra Bio Cell.

I have 455 with Vizard A 70 stiff. The driver is sneaky long and straight. I think it produces low spin with etra roll.

 

My friends are surprised to see I outdrove them often.

I went to a PGA Tour Superstore and hit the driver against my current (Cobra Bio Cell).

 

I liked the feel, sound and price. However, when I hit both, I didn't see a big discrepancy between the two, so I did not end up purchasing it.

I had the opposite. Really liked the feel and sound but those Vizard shafts were pulling 3000-3500 spin. No thanks for that vs my PXG without doing a full h2h.

 

Fantastic deal for people that need higher spin though.
