Shingle Creek two thumbs down! Horrible.

Im almost sick to my stomach I gave this course a chance. The pace of play is atrocious. The course was in horrible condition so bad you almost were forced to bump the ball in the fairway!!! The quality of Bermuda they use is the worst. Greens need major work. Didn’t they recently renovate this place? Layout is boring and bland with no memorable holes that’s make you go wow.. I lived in Orlando for many years and this course by far was the biggest POS I ever stepped foot on. Do not waste your time with this tourist trap. It’s amazing this course gets good reviews.

I played there a few times before the renovation. It was in great condition each time and had some good holes. I'd rank it in the middle tier of the 50 or so courses I've played in the Orlando area.

Had a chance to play there about a year, whooped my a$$ but, it was in phenomenal shape. I'm out on the west coast so playing bermunda greens were an adjustment. Even got to see a couple of gators in the lake and on the banks.

They aerated about a month ago and the greens and fairways have not grown in for some reason.

That's a shame. I really want another shot at that course and we're making another trip out towards Disney World and I love sneaking in a round or two.

Let me be the first to admit if the course was in good shape I would have enjoyed it much more. When you live in a state that has bent grass greens and fairways, then come down to Florida and the course has Bermuda grass that is not in good shape, well its a shock.

I've played plenty of golf in Florida and never had a problem with Bermuda until I played Shingle Creek. Worst conditioned Florida golf course I have been on in the last 20 years. Also for Christ sake learn to cut your greens! Also way way too crowded. I understand that due to its location and reputation that is why it was busy, but when its after 3 pm during the week , during the fall when it gets dark at 5:30 in Orlando and you can't find a tee time as a single? That is an issue!

Thank god for Forest Lake as they got me on no problem and it was nice and quiet out there and wide open. In my opinion better layout as well.

Seems odd, I was there on Nov 10th and while I would not say it was in spectacular shape it was in no way in horrible shape.

As far as being busy we played on a Sunday and completed our round in 4:05 as a foursome. Not sure how you can be upset just because you couldn’t get out as a single.

Played there twice on trips to Florida.. course was in decent shape. We were a twosome playing very early, as we were teeing off number one the starter put a husband and wife with us. No problem, EXCEPT .... I don’t think either one had ever played golf before .. swing and a miss, dribble it 3 yards, swing and a miss, shank ... and this is in the first 50 yards of hole one. Awful..

If you think Shingle is bad conditions dont EVER play at Metrowest, Eastwood, Twin Rivers, Falcons Fire, Celebration, The Omni, Stoneybrooke, Eagle Creek....or pretty much anywhere else under $90 a round lol

I guess this is what happens when you belong to a club that has immaculate conditioned bent grass fairways all year round. Many public golf courses in Florida are going to seem in bad condition when comparing them.

My favorite grass by far is Zoysia. That stuff is so easy to hit off of with wedges around the greens and fairway woods off the fairway. Almost like the ball is tee'd up.

When I lived in Florida year round I just got used to Bermuda. Now when I play on it I think it sucks.
