Best courses near Pensacola

Me and my buddy are heading down in February. He is an aspiring pro so we are looking for a nice challenging course or two. Any help would be appreciated.

Your best bet is driving to Destin area. Regatta Bay and Kelley Plantation are the 2 best that there are no hoops to jump through, just book and go. I prefer Regatta Bay, both are overpriced. Not sure how they are priced in Feb though. Sandestin golf resort has a couple good courses but you have to stay on property for the most part. Windswept Dunes and Camp Creek are a little further down the panhandle but also good. If you are open for a drive (little under 2 hours) East the best course BY FAR within 2 hours is Fallen Oak in Mississippi. Obviously this is a day trip and a lot more than just a morning round of golf. I only mention it because it is so good and driving through Destin at the wrong time can add up the time anyway.

There are closer courses, you can email Pensacola CC is a good private course you can email. I enjoyed it. Tiger Point is fine too, nothing to write home about.

Ah yes, sorry I forgot. My brother in law is a PGA guy so he was able to get us on I guess. My bad. Worth a shot to email them if you wanted to make that trek though.

There are better golf courses in Mobile area. Robert Trent Jones Trail Courses are right there in Alabama. Pensacola is basically on the Florbama line.

In southern Mississippi, Grand Bear, The Preserve, and Shell Landing are worth playing. They're not Fallen Oak, but they're no slouches.
