I don't know this guy personally & have never had any dealings with him. But this is one thing you can do to cover yourself when you buy something from people. My Bank services offers a Garantee return on my money if I am scamed on my Credit Card !! It will take a little time but you can get a refund on your money. My bank will give my money back to me reguardless if they can get the money from the scammer or not!! :D :) (The Bank is Wachovia) (Their is a cost for this service)

The best thread I have ever read... People are pretty stand up in here I so respect people looking out for others even if you don't know them. The only way to stop the guys is to speak up and it's happening in the forums.

 

I recommend saving all correspondence with people you deal with... keep a paper trail... cover you @#*

But how come this guy is not in jail? Mail fraud can land you a couple years in the joint, why can't paypal contact the guys bank or credit card company & get the guy?

About 2 years ago in my area a kid was murdered because he stiffed a guy on the net..supposedly took the guys $$$$ for a ham radio and the kid never delivered and basically told the buyer FU.. so the guy traveled half way across the country and killed him. I do not know how people make a regular practice of ripping people off....like everything else in life it catches up with you sooner or later.

Guys...New to this site but not to "Jason smith" he used to be on Golfweb when they had free classifieds.....I dealt with him a couple of years ago, he tried to screw me and another person....IF it is the same guy, he is/was in the army stationed at Fort Polk LA. After a lot of calling talking to all kinds of people and finally the CID unit I got the name of his Commanding Officer. Called him and he got my stuff back....The guy is a piece of work....I would bet it is the same person, the people at Fort Polk were very helpful, they don't like this kind of stuff....

Back in July, I sold a Titleist Tour Issue T gring wedge to:

His email was [email protected]. I rec'd money from a verified PP account before I shipped the wedge USPS priority.

 

Today, I receive an email from PP stating: It has come to our attention that you may be the recipient of potentially unauthorized funds. We have initiated an investigation into this event. In the meantime, we have placed a temporary hold on the funds in question until the investigation is complete......

 

 

 

 

 

He was under jasons4455, not jason4455. I will tell you this. Because of this board and others things are getting slightly tougher for him. He pulled his most recent auctions as the heat picked up on him.

 

I was also able to uncover a shipping address where an item was sent to him from an Ebay seller that recently sold him something under the jasons4455 id:
