yes 7 iron. Everyone says 7 iron should be 18 degree launch and 7000 spin.

Once upon a time, maybe. I swing the 7i about the same speed. My numbers are similar to yours. In this age, high launch, low to mid 5000 rpm, peak around 30 yards are excellent with a 7i.

There are plenty of folks that don't hit the RPM equivalent to their irons (7I, 7K RPM, etc). The end game is to get the descent angle proper for the playing conditions. The 48-50* is a good place to be.

Keep in mind, hitting off maps can distort the numbers a bit. Little higher launch than normal and a bit less spin. They can often offset one another when it comes to being back on the turf.

Thats just a bad rule of thumb, its really about stopping power, not spin numbers, so the question is really how much roll out is acceptable for that club? 10 yards seems to be the average in that test, and thats a bit much for a #7 iron during play.

You dont tell the conditions this numbers was made under, was it from a indoor mat? Then launch angle becomes higher and spin lower vs turf, but no mat is the same either, but a test Trackman did shows up to almost 2000 rpm lower spin and a launch almost 3 higher on that example, but this will vary quite a lot.

You will have to make the judgement for roll out under real playing conditions, and for "better players", a #7 iron should stop within 6 yards, so its a question of how this numbers looks real life if the test was from a mat.
