Hot-melt questions

New to hot-melting so I am looking for some direction/knowledge. I hit a 5w with HM the other day and LOVED the feel so want to add it to my Epic Flash Sub Zero triple diamond and my m5 rocket 3w. Here are my questions:

1) I play tensei orange 70tx and 80tx in both clubs- if I switched shafts after adding the hot-melt would I be completely out of wack due to the counterbalancing?

2) does it really matter where in the head the hot-melt settles? Neutral, toe side, heel side? Top/bottom?

3) any recommendations on doing it yourself vs finding someone who does it? Any recommendations if I need to send it out?

1) Hot melt is WEIGHT and sound dampening, so if you change shafts, head weight might be off your needs, but thats a general head weight issue

2) that depends on how much weight added we talk about, but we shall as a general guideline follow BIAS rules. (if you dont want more draw, then dont place it heel side etc.)

3) The equipment needed is expensive so for a club head or 2, its not a DiY job.

 

PS! lead tape does the same, it both adds weight and dampen sound (on hollow heads), and its easy to adjust up and down in head weight as you want it, while Hot melt is permanent, once added you want be able to remove it by ease, so you better know what head weight you want and where you want it placed before you do it, or have someone to do it.

IF you want to get something to have around, the Advanced Hot Melt Golf Club Weighting Kit (https://www.hotmelt.com/products/advanced-hot-melt-golf-club-weighting-kit-gun-and-cartridge?_pos=7&_sid=c6a650587&_ss=r) is what I would recommend. I have it and it works quite well and is hundreds less than any other option that is worth the money. Hotmelt.com stocks another gun by Probonder that is less, but it is a total waste of money and will only frustrate you.

With the Tensei Orange being a CB shaft, putting the same head on any non-CB shaft will give you a MUCH heavier feel. I tried moving my F7 from a Copper Mamba to a HZRDUS Black and it did not work at all without removing considerable weight. However, if you use removable weights for the majority of you weighting to your driver (as I did), a small amount of hotmelt for muting purposes will work fine.

The EF SZ TD is easy to hotmelt. Take the shaft off and there’s a slot in the head to drop the melt on the sole. Or you can go through the plug if you want it on the crown. It’s still easier to go through the slot

M5, need to remove the plug. Finding a plug isn’t the easiest but it can be plugged in with varying methods

The EF SZ TD hotmelted on sole is one the best sounding and feeling drivers I’ve hit

Hotmelt is for adding weight to a club it essentially is lead tape that you can’t see (and can never remove). In my experience it doesn’t make a club any better or worse or change ball flight or sound or make me a scratch golfer. Just adds swingweight.

the only way it would make me a scratch is if it replaced my putter.....I have additional weights for the head in order to feel it with Tensei on it so wasn't looking to add more than 3-6 grams for feel and sound on both clubs
