Bags compare to Vessel Lite bag?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone!

I got a Vessel Lite Stand bag as a gift and am pretty underwhelmed with the bag overall (bummer.) I am coming from a Titleist Players 4 Plus and there are some features the vessel is just lacking (full length dividers and a large top are the main two.)

I am thinking about returning the Vessel but still do want a nicer bag. Looking for a stand bag with 4 full length dividers with a fairly big top compartment (9 inches.) Also would prefer something on the same level as a vessel with not a ton of branding.

Any suggestions?

Bummer to hear because i am wanting a vessel lite stand in white. I’m told the white has full length where some of the colors do not. Not sure if true tho. I currently have a 2018 Titleist players 4 and like it but hate the straps. Not use what the plus has in addition to my 4. Was considering a Stadry as I really like the charcoal color.

Do you like the straps on the vessel? Got to be better than the players for, as I do not care for him at all. Mine always tangle

Yes, generally speaking. From someone I talked to at RCD, they said Top 50 courses in the world, but then others I think may have suggested it was Top 100.

If you’re close to any public top courses, stop in and ask or you could just call their pro shop and see if you can buy over the phone. Tell em you played there recently.

Didn’t see a collegiate buy tried a 2.5+ today and man, felt cheap. Didn’t care for the legs or material they use. But I’m sure I’m having issues with quality material vs weight.

im back to leaning towards vessel.

I walk 90% of my rounds and my fav bag to carry has to be the K1-Lo. Material is thin, but so far so good. At 2.7 pounds including the straps, it is noticeably lighter than my hoofer lite or sun mountain bags. Pocket layout and Velcro placement for the gloves are ideal for how I like as well. Just bought one of the MNML bags as well, cool bag to look at but haven’t walked with it yet. However, can’t get this bag off the brain....

Where did you see those? In Birmingham?

I have wanted to see a SL2 in person. I wanted the light blue one they don’t make anymore. Is that gray?

k1-LO is mizuno, right? The pockets big enough?

Yes, k1-LO is the Mizuno bag, they have several at Inverness Golf down there street from PGATSS.

Our pro is at the show down in Orlando and I asked him to take a few pics of the new colors of the sl2. This one is the light blue. Maybe easier to tell from this pic.

Inverness golf is different than the country club. They have the mizuno’s but not the vessel or stitch. The ones in the pic are blue.

Ha, yeah, it really is tough. I was lucky enough to upgrade my whole set-up at xmas, clubs, bag, some pants, etc, etc, etc. And i've spent more time researching the damn bag than anything! Which seems backwards. But no bag seems just right, functionally and style-wise and everything else. At some point ya gotta just say 'fuggit' and pick the best you can find. For me as I think you know it was the new Ping CEL, but I was looking hard at the Stitch SL2..... But anyway, i figure it's not like this has to be my lifetime bag. I hate to be wasteful, but I'll try the CEL for at least a season or two and maybe another xmas try something else if it's not cutting it for some reason.

Ok, I see now on the vessel light stand is smaller than the players. I was looking at the wrong one.

the lite stand is only an 8” top. Hmm is that too small for 14 clubs in and out?

i worry about that now.

The way I organize my clubs in a 4 way top is as follows...

Bottom - wedges through 9 iron

Left middle - 8,7,6

Right Middle - 5 and hybrid

Top - Driver, Wood, Putter.

The top is what gave me the most issues. Fitting those 3 in was REALLY tough. I was able to make it work sitting in my living room, but moving quickly on the course would be an issue. Also, there is no divider between the middle two compartments. So it is a 4 way top with 2 full length dividers.

I go 9,P,GW, SW, LW in the bottom organizer, 4,5,6 and 7,8,9 in middle organizer, and Driver, 3W, Putter, and 3 Iron / Driving Iron / Hybrid in the top organizer. Maybe some binding when pulling clubs, really isn't bad though, and my model does not have the full length dividers.

Only other downside is both my rubber feet have fallen off and I've lost them, then sent me a replacement which I lost, then sent me another pair and it looks like they have changed their feet a tad. The opening on the new ones fits much more snug against the legs and they also included epoxy as well.

I have used Ping Hoofer forever and always loved them but recently found Vessel. I paid only a few dollars more for the white Vessel Lite Stand with my club logo and I have to say there is no comparison to the quality of the two. The Vessel is just superb. Everything from the material to the zippers to the magnetic rangefinder pocket are top notch. They also did a two-tone version of our logo that looks great in black and grey against the white. The white bag is a faux leather type material and not nylon like the other colors however. I've read about issue with cart straps rubbing but they sent a neoprene sleeve to put over the cart strap that has worked perfectly. Also, for those who were wondering, the white bag does have full length dividers. I have midsize grips and have not had any binding issues with 14 clubs.
