Tour Issue AMT S400 vs AMT Tour White S300

Has anyone compared these two shafts. It seems the Tour White replaced the Tour Issue S400. I really like that shaft so wondering if the Tour White is basically the same thing rebranded.

originally there was the AMT TI in s400 and x100 and a non-TI in r300, s300, and x100. I thought the white s300 was a rebranding of the later, not the former.

Yes and there was also a non-TI s400 AMT. The s300s will be lighter and softer than the s400, but the same shaft in every other way.

You're right that the True Temper reference was not the seller, but the seller is not none for me, it's Dallas Golf. Maybe it's different for you because you're outside of the US?
So it's really just another way to get them from Dallas Golf - as @Poolparty mentioned above.

@ccorrada I hard stepped the Tour White S300 this year in my T100's... Increased static weight starting with the 8i down to the 4i and of course marginally stiffer. @Howard_Jones had posted some great charts in another thread showing the weights of the AMT/Tour White shafts if they were soft-stepped or HS'd. This may be a good option for your.

There was a seller on Ebay selling Black Onyx 4-GW AMT S300 for dirt cheap. I bought a set and hard stepped them and used them in 3-PW. Be aware that the weight tolerances were off a bit, probably due to the powder coating.

AMT is different from other shafts since they move more up or down in shaft weight when we soft or hard step them than what we are used to see, and i think its one of this charts you are thinking of.

AMT Tour White is offered in an S400.

Why dont you just get that, if you like S400?

I saw that and that was kind of why I'm asking the question. So were they heavier due to the powder coating? How does the finish hold up?

Yes it is. It is just not listed on the Website. Several Manufacturers offer it as an option. Including Titleist etc

They weren't all heavier, but some were. They did not have consistent weight progressions per the specs.

Can't comment on the durability, as I can't play them until the snow melts.

I have a set of s400 AMT TI in my irons pw-4i and am looking a similar shaft to put in my 3i. Since the s400 AMT are no longer in production would a HS s300 AMT be pretty similar?

They stopped making the TI AMT s400 but the Tour White AMT s400 is the same shaft and they still make them. One would assume if they're being made then they're also for sale

AMT Tour White S400 is a reference to "Tour weight" (what ever that is), and they are sorted by the GOLD standard of plus minus 1.5 grams, so worse case is 2 shafts with the same weight.

Does True Temper still sell the AMT Tour White S400 (non tour issue)? I can't find those available anywhere.

All I know is that they exist. Idk where they're sold. Best option is probably to contact true temper. I'd exhaust every option trying to find a s400 before I tried a hard stepped s300 or DG 105 or whatever
