Graphite Shaft confusion

For the past 5 or 6 years I’ve played the Aldila VS Proto “By You” shaft in driver (60 gram) and 3 wood (70 gram). It’s is s solid mid trajectory mid spin shaft that I am very familiar with. However, they are no longer available new and I get dizzy studying the current offerings. My SS is about 100 and driving is the strongest aspect of the game. Generally I prefer mid to high trajectory and mid to high spin shafts. Does anyone have any suggestions for current offerings that fit these characteristics? Please don’t suggest that I get fitted - long story but it isn’t going to happen. Many thanks.

Tour Blue is said to be in the line of succession from the VS Proto.

I think you might enjoy the Project X Hazrdus Smoke or the Red. I’m a big fan of these shafts, priced right and very consistent. BB

Good call. I‘ve been playing the Hazrdus Red for a couple weeks now in my search for a new shaft. I like it a lot but want to make sure I’m not overlooking any other contenders.

Also a big and long time Aldila blue fan.

Just me but I like the Aldila Rip Phenom or NV 2kxv blue as a replacement more than the Tour Blue or Rogue Black (which also are in the same mid-trajectory aldila line and may be possible alternatives). Especially for the 60 gm version since they are closer in weight. The Tour Blue and Rogue Black '60's' are really closer to 70 gm shafts.

Other OEM options I've found to work well: PX LZ (not made but still can find some) or PX Evenflow Blue I found to be pretty close in feel.

Obviously as with any shaft recommendation, YRMV.

 

FWIW - the Aldila chronological progression/lineage for the vs-proto line was:

Vs-proto, VS Voodoo, Rip Phenom, Tour Blue, Rogue Black, Rogue elite blue, NV 2kxv blue.

They can still be found in several weights/flexes on eBay from very reputable sellers. May even be some online retailers who still have new old stock at reduced prices - pretty sure I’ve seen a site or two recently who had them (BillyBobs is one).
