Utley Golf Digest Article

Has anyone got a copy of the Stan Utley article in golf digest from a couple of years back going over his principles of putting etc. The articles on the web but with no pictures and it has disappeared of the gd website :haha:

Get the book. It's very good if the arc is your style of putting.

Better yet, get Utley's Learning Curve.

 

The putter doesn't swing inside as much as most people think.

 

You need to ingrain the correct feel and this will do it.

I just found this out the hard way. I bought and read BOTH Utley and Pelz last winter. After trying both, I spent the last 10 months working on nothing but SBST.

 

I've read all the arguments on this forum over the two methods.

 

Well, just last night while putting at home, it occurred to me that I could lay a shaft on the ground to serve as a guide at the toe of my putter as I went SBST. Well, only then did I realize that the putterface OPENED on the backswing. It's so small...just barely at 1:00 on a small swing.

 

I couldn't believe it. I thought it was MUCH more pronounced.

 

Anyway, I think I'm switching. I'm sure you guys will be seeing me post questions about Utley in the days ahead.
