Thoughts? I'm working on the following:

-Trying not to take the club so far to the inside on the backswing...

-Lighter grip pressure

-Pulling the trigger...I sometimes get a little stuck

You need a general lower body clean up.  Long term you gotta get rid of that early extension.

First I’d have you put your pelvis more over your footprint at address. Butt not quite so far back, weight in the balls of the feet. Then you need to lose more flex in the right knee during the swing. You are adding flex to both knees in the late backswing and into transition. This is getting you too close to the ground and turning your hips level both of which contribute to your early extension.

Thank you so much for the feedback!

I often do feel that I'm too tilted toward the ball which, I believe, causes heel contact at times + other issues. I think concentrating on more weight in the balls of my feet will keep my butt from being so far back at address.

Do you recommend any drills that will keep me from adding flex to my knees in the backswing/transition?

JW,— some things for you to consider ————-

I played just about every sport when I was a young boy and I NEVER , at any time , that I can remember did I EVER think about my legs or lower body - How they were performing! I just threw the bat back behind me somewhere with my HANDS and concentrated on trying to PULL the bat back to contact that ball coming at me ! Never thought about my lower body ! When I jumped up to shoot a basketball  I never thought about my lower body or legs ! I was only 5 ft- 10 inches tall , but I could jump up and hang on to the rim. I never thought about my legs . They seemed to work just fine ! Obviously, the same applied also to every other sport i played !

I suppose if I had played soccer it would have been necessary for  me to train my feet to perform  such an UNNATURAL task . I expect that would take years of training! I never tried to kick field goals with a football ,  but I can imagine it takes years to teach again , such an UNNATURAL task .
I assume you have also played different sports and maybe you also NEVER. Thought about what your LOWER BODY and LEGS doing ?  That is because since you were of age to stand up on your own two feet and walk around  on this Earth balance mechanisms have been embedded in your legs and lower body to keep you from falling and damaging that computer between your shoulders —— and the body will ALWAYS POSITION ITSELF TO ACCOMMODATE THE PATH OUR DOMINANT HANDS DESIRE TO GO . Since more than 40 % of our brain is dedicated to our most important EXTREMITIES ( Our DOMINANT HANDS ) and more than 40% is also dedicated to our HEAD for it’s functions - then their is not much left for our lower body because it doesn’t need it . It just performs as instructed by it bosses

up above it !

I guess my question is - why do we constantly advise golfers  to focus on their legs / hips and lower body movements ? What makes golf any different ? Especially, when the DS only takes 2/10 seconds and the player ( any human ) will ONLY have  time for ONE ( 1 ) thought !  Is it going  to be the legs , hips , feet ? They are NOT connected / attached to the implement we hold to perform this task !
Just my thoughts !

Totally hear what you are saying. I'd still love to improve in areas that might make me a better ball striker, even if it gives me more to think about in practice. When I go out to play, I like to clear my head of most of that stuff.
