Played my new Cobra King Forged Tec One irons today

I just purchased a set of Cobra King Forged Tec One irons today 4-Gap. My other set are Titleist C-16's. The one length seems to work for me but the PW and Gap wedge does take some getting used to. I need to dial in the distances a little more. I do like the confidence I get when swinging the 4 and 5 iron. My first real test came on the second hole which is a par 3. It was playing 185 slight helping wind. I hit a 4 iron about ten yards too long. I do notice a lower ball flight as compared to my C16's which I tend to ballon the ball a little. I got the Project X Catalyst 5.5 reg flex in my Cobras and they seem to fit my swing well. I am a little fickle sometimes with clubs but I will  definitely be giving the Cobras a good chance.

I have a new set of King Foeged Tec irons as well, not the one length though.  I played 9 with them yesterday and found my confidence growing with them.  Had a range session today in a 20 moh wind off my left shoulder.  Gauging distance was pointless but I am seeing a lower ball flight as well.   Need a lot more range time to dial these in.

Funny, I play Forged Tec's with SteelFiber i95 (R) and they launch high for me.

Direct comparison with Forged Tec Blacks outside, off grass, on Trackman. 

Spin #s for 7 irons were very similar, may 100-200rpm lower with the Forged Tec's

But the apex with the FTB's was 10-15ft lower.

This has born out in real life, on course as well. I can stop the FTB 8 iron pretty close to landing, whereas even with the added height, the Forged Tec 8 rolls out probably 8-10 feet.

On GCquad I had a height of 102 ft.  On the course it seems lower, but I've only had one e range session and nine holes played

I LOVE the sound of my forged tec's... almost addicted to the sound cripy and crunchy with just enough softness.

It's definitely an interesting feeling set. I've had a few range sessions now...I like the feel too but it's kind of unique, or at least to me since i've never used one of these hollow power blades

 

I've also felt that the launch is pretty low. They are very strong lofted so this needs to be considered. But i launch them lower than my G410's with S300
