How's Woodcrest looking over the past 12 months? I know they are back to fully private... It's a Flynn so the bones are there.

 

Only ever played it public, and was super disappointed with poa, bare tee boxes, swampy fariways, awful looking brown sludge ponds. That said need to acknowledge there is massive potential there. Clubhouse and bar is nice... course has structure to be great... needed a lot of revitalizing if I recall. 

 

Curious what the plan is there, and if they are dumping money into conditions, tree removal and restoration? How's the membership group? Do lot's of people walk? Caddy program?

I joined Woodcrest in December after leaving Merchantville Country Club. Course is in good condition but its get a s*** load of play tee sheet is booked every weekend and pretty solid through out some week days. They don't even have close to the number of lockers for all the members. Some fairways have some bad /ugly bare spots but for the most part its pretty well maintained, will have to wait another month or so to see how things turn with the weather. The greens are rolling fast already. I believe they did some tree removal but nothing substantial still have to be cautious of them on many of the holes. Some of the ponds still are brownish 18, looks great but that could change for the better with the seasons changing.  Membership seems to be solid with a lot of young professional guys (their men's league sold out in a day with 120 players)  You can walk anytime but they do charge a $15 dollar trail fee before 2pm alot of walkers there, No caddie program.  IMO Its a great deal for under 40's especially with the pool if you have a family. The restaurant / bar is still open to public to so there isn't any monthly food minimums.  And No initiation fee
