First, Ping offers steel and graphite shafts for irons in the AWT family. To get the specs, you sometimes have to dig into the Ping-generated product promo articles (online search).

Also, be aware that PING main site splits out its shafts separate from the Club Specs. See G425 as example of shaft detail page.

The steel Ping AWT 2.0 has been around for several years. From 2021 Ping booklet:

"Using PING's Ascending Weight Technology, lighter long iron shafts help square the clubface, short iron/wedge shafts are heavier for trajectory control and feel."

Flexes: Regular = 98 grams / Stiff = 104 grams / XS = 119 grams.

For the Alta CB graphite family, all three versions incorporate AWT design:

  • Alta CB (black and gold) from G400
  • Alta CB Red from G410 - see G410 iron promo.
  • Alta CB Slate from G425

Ping also has Alta CB shaft variants for its long clubs.

In women's clubs, the Ping booklet lists the ULT240 Lite and UltraLite shafts, but does not mention them as AWT.

Thats not an answer. They list the STEEL AWT shaft in R, S and XS. There is no mention of a AWT Steel Lite flex or shaft.

I’ve seen pics of a shaft that’s designated as “Ping AWT 2.0 LITE”.

My question is this a different shaft than the std AWT Steel or just a rebranding of the std shaft?

Omigosh... do I have to stay after school as punishment? From the sketchy info in your OP, that's what I came up with.

image.png.77af28d4c7627e075dc0a057a0f81465.pngIn a second search, any mention of AWT 2.0 Lite appears to be tied to Asian sources. Here's a 2016 Facebook posting mentioning Lite:

The Wingolf site is based out of Singapore, and a second site MST Golf is based out of Malaysia. And, an offering for i500 irons with AWT Lite comes from ProGolfJapan.

I would suggest you call PING Central for details.

Didn't mean to come off harshly. If I did I apologize. It wasn't my intent.  This is the shaft I was interested in.

@mjf34g,

Your picture with the LITE label is the first I've seen. Possibly it was developed for Asian market.

I am familiar with this pathway. In 2011, I traded my Calla X20 irons for X20 Tours with Callaway PreOwned. These Tours had PX 5.0 Rifle Flighted shafts, even though PX 5.5 appeared to be the softest flex I could order in the US.

I suspect the set was assembled for the Asian market, where one could buy the 5.0 flex; set rating was a "Like New" CPO, but the clubs had never been hit. (Last production on X20 Tours was circa 2009).

Found the info on Pings Japanese site. Shaft is basically a lighter AWT 2.0. The std AWT Steel 2.0 is 98 grams in reg. The Lite version is 87 grams, 1.9* torque. Kick point from what I can gather is mid. I'm going to try Ping CS tomorrow to get some more info. The shaft is available here as a lighter weight steel shaft.
